How to have a productive morning / working from home

Being productive in the morning may not come easier to the majority of us, some days I really struggle and can’t get out of bed, some days I’m up early and ready for the day ahead. Here are some ideas of how to make the most out your morning and get your day going…

No Snoozing

If I’m getting up, I have to get up, I feel like snoozing makes me 10x more tired and sets me up for a bad day ahead, so when my alarm goes off I’m up! There’s nothing worse than having to rush around in the morning, so allowing yourself an extra 10 minutes in bed snoozing your alarm creates a lot more stress for you. If you really are struggling ton get up in the mornings then going to bed earlier would be more beneficial.

Get Dressed

This may seem like an obvious one, I do this every week day to go to work, however if I have Instagram and Blog stuff to do at the weekend then I also like to get myself ready for the day and feel ready to tackle the work load.

Skin Prep

A vital part of making me feel human and ready to start work is making sure mt morning skincare routine is done and out the way. My morning routine is a lot more simpler than my evening one so it takes a lot less time anyway.

Lists, lists and lists

I love lists, they are my best friends, I find it so satisfying being able to work my way through a list and tick everything off! I tend to make all my lists the night before, that way I can go to bed with a clear head and not worry about forgetting about something I need to do.

Feed your creativity

Food is pretty the main essential in the mornings and if I want to be productive, my go to breakfast on a day when I need to blog and take photos is poached egg on toast (purely so I can take a photo of it and Instagram it with the caption ‘Good Morning@). Along with food it is really important to make sure your hydrated, I always like to drink a big glass of water before having any other type of drink (coffee).

In my opinion, waking up and having a tidy room/house is a great feeling, going to bed and knowing everything is in its rightful place, how tranquil. I like to make sure everything is in its home before I get into bed, this makes getting ready in the morning so much easier!

How do you make sure yourself productive in the mornings?

My favourite nudes | Nudes perfect for work

If your anything like me then you like to wear make up for work, and a lipstick, ofcourse! Well I have the perfect lipsticks which look great, but look natural and don’t look like your trying to hard.

These three lipsticks have become my most worn lipsticks since I started my new job back in January. A nude lip is not something I would tend to wear, I love a bright bold red lipstick which stands out. However, for work that’s not always the best idea, so a nude lip it is for work.

Left to right

Mac Velvet Teddy This is the lipstick which everyone and their mother knows about, I always forget about this lipstick and forget how beautiful and natural it really is. As it is matte it lasts for a pretty long time so you don’t need to worry about topping it up every 30 minutes.

Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria This is slightly more brown toned where as Velvet Teddy has more red undertones on my skin. But this makes it such a lovely lipstick to wear as it looks really natural and doesn’t look to over the top.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Bear Hug This lipstick from Tanya Burr Cosmetics’s is the lightest of the 3 and a lot more natural. This is great for the days where you accuse little go a little over the top on your face makeup and don’t want to push it by wearing a noticlabe lipstick.

As you can see from the swatches they are all really creamy and pigmented and so easy to wear! These are also ideal for when your on the go and don’t have a lot of time to work on your application.

Spring Make Up For Work

Hello, today I thought I would share some of my favourite drugstore products and use them all in one look for a day at work.

I have been obsessed with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer the past few weeks, I find it gives my skin a really healthy glow and creates a smooth base for my foundation to sit on.

For foundation I have been trying out Loreal Infalliable Total Cover which I think everyone has tried by now. To be honest I don’t really see a difference between the normal one, but I have it so I use it. I have been applying my foundation with a brush, so I try and use the smallest bit of foundation squeezed onto my hand so I get a really natural look. Now it’s summer I want fresher looking make up with more of a glow.

The concealer I have been loving is by Bourjois and it is the Radience Reveal Concealer. This is a really creamy formula and gives great coverage without going cakes or drying.

The next item I have been raving about so much over on my Instagram (@toriiitoriii), the Seventeen Instant Glow cream bronzer. I bought this last year and hadn’t really used it until this past month. I love using this to bronze my forehead and give a little bit of definition on my cheeks before I actually use powder bronzer.

To bake my under eye concealer I use the MUA Skin Define Powder, this sets under my eyes and stops any creasing during the day. It is a translucent powder so it doenst add any colour. Then to set the rest of my face I use my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder which is also translucent. This really does set your face for the whole day and stops any oil/shine.

I next picked out an old palette from Sleek, this is the Face Form Contouring & Blush palette in light 373.  I used the bronzer as this gives a really pretty light bronze to the cheeks and is easy to build up. I then also used the blush as this is a dupe for Nars Orgasm. For highlighter I used a new palette from MUA LUXE Radiant Illumination Highlighting kit 2. I used the bottom left pink pearl colour as this created a really nice shimmery shade which gave a lovely summery glow.

For my eyeshadow I used the most gorgeous palette from MUA,  it is the Burning Embers palette. I chose pretty light neutral colours as I didn’t want anything bold. I build up the crease by using the soft brown and then the dark brown followed by he shimmer champagne colour on the lid.

Lashes, Brows & Lips

On my eye brows I used the MUA LUXE brow pomade to create definition and create a bolder brow. To set my brows I used Loreal Brow Plumper

For my mascara I used Loreal False Lash Superstar which creates loads of length and volume.

And to finish up on my lips I used Tanya Burr Pink Cocoa  which is a really pretty pinky nude shade.

What are your staple items for your daily make up routine?

Quick and Simple Make Up for Work // MOTD

For work I like to keep it pretty simple and make sure my make up is long lasting as I work in a hot environment. So I have chosen Rommel Stay Matte Primer to create a matte base for my foundation. I then have been loving using Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation recently as I love the dewy glow you get from this. I have also been pairing it with the matching concealor Rimmel Wake Me Up Concealor which I have also been loving. Basically everything I use on a daily basis I love, and I know it’s going to keep my face looking decent, well as decent as it can be.  To get an extra glow I use a cream highlighter from Collection and blend this in.

To set under my eyes I use the Natural Collection Translucent Powder on my beauty blender to bake my under eye area. Once that has set, I dust off the excess and then start to set the rest of my face with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder which is another favourite.

To add some definition to my face I bronze using The Balm Bahama-Mama which is the perfect shade for a natural look as it’s not too cool or warm toned. For blush I have opted for an old favourite Luminoso By Milani which is a lovely coral glowy shade. And to finally add a little more glow I use Mary Lou-Manizer by The Balm.

The finishing touches are brows and eye lashes. I use the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow Pomade on my brows as I know this is long lasting and waterproof. To set this I use L’Oréal Brow Plumper.

And finally I use the No7 Lash Impact mascara  as it gives a lot volume and is long lasting.
