What’s in the Box: Cohorted November Box

Beauty

Hello lovelies, today is a very exciting blog post indeed, well for me it is because Cohorted asked if they could send me their November Beauty Box to review on my blog! Of course I said yes, jumping at the chance to work with an amazing company, and we all love a subscription box don’t we! So here is everything you need to know about the Cohorted Beauty Box…

Cohorted is a monthly beauty subscription box which is £35 per month (if you sign up now, you’ll receive your first one in January). The total value of my the box I received was £109 which is amazing as you can see a lot of full sized products. Compared to other subscription boxes this one looks and feels a lot more high end, the packaging is really sleek and compliments the products in the box greatly.

Plum & Ashby Honey & Jojoba Hand Cream £15

First up in the box is this beautiful hand cream, which smells as good as it looks! I don’t tend to use a lot of hand cream because I find the smells over powering and they tend to make me sneeze, but this one has a really natural subtle smell which is perfect especially if you put it on before bed.

Lancôme Visionnaire Advanced Multi Correcting Cream 5ml x 2 £20

These types of mini creams are perfect for travelling, your able to still stick to your skincare routine but also able to stick to the liquid allowance on your flight. I will definitely be packing these for my trip to Paris in January!

New CID I-intense Mascara £20

Next up is a very chic mascara from the brand New CID which I have never heard of before, but looking at the price it seems to be a high end mascara. The mascara is richly pigmented and builds volume whilst separating lashes.

Too Faced Melted Liquefied Longwear Lipstick £19

Seeing this little beauty in the box made me jump for joy, I have wanted one of these lipsticks for quite a while now! This is in the shade Melted Coral, it is a really beautiful orange coral shade which will be beyond perfect for the summer months.

And finally, a brightening light reflective primer from Figs & Rouge and is the most expensive product in the box. I have only tested this primer out once, but boy did it make face glow! This will be an amazing primer for the holiday season making your foundation glow from within creating a really healthy look. It also does so many other amazing this to your skin such as, neutralise redness, minimise large pores, anti-inflammatory and colour correcting! This will definitely be a staple in my make up bag for my Christmas parties!

I want to say a huge thank you to Cohorted for sending me this box and allowing me try so many new products!

Thanks for reading, see you tomorrow for another post!

Loreal Paradise Exactic Review

Beauty

This beautiful mascara must be one of the most talked about mascaras in a long time, and I can definitely see why! It is AMAZING.

First off all, the packaging. I think this appeals to every blogger and lover of all things rose gold so it gets a 10 out of 10 for first impressions and presentation skills. This is without a doubt one of the prettiest mascaras I own, it’s on par with Too Faced Better Than Sex.

The brush, its pretty much perfect. It applied the perfect amount of product, it doesn’t go clumpy and it creates so much volume and length. It really is all round a great product.

It is also so easy to apply and easy to work with. I don’t think I’ve ever had a time where it hasn’t done what I wanted it too (i.e. Gone clumpy or looked awful). The first time I wore this one of my colleagues asked if I was wearing a new mascara because my lashes looked like they were lash extensions! What a compliment.

I truely feel like I have found my perfect mascara and I don’t feel like I need to even bother buying any new ones as I can just keep repurchasing this one over and over…

Have you tried this mascara out? Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below.

Most Worn Eye Palettes

Beauty

Eye shadow (and lipstick) are my weeknesses! As soon as a new palette drops, I want it. A lot of the time I do manage to restrain myself but sometimes you just have to treat yourself. Out of my huge palette collection these 5 palettes are my most reached for…

Iheartmakeupldn Chocolate Vice Palette

I think there are some great drugstore alternatives out there for highend palettes which really go above and beyond the expectations. Iheartmakeup have brought out so many chocolate bar palettes to be dupes for the Too Faced ones it seems silly to spend £30 on one palette rather than £8.

I really love the variety of shades in the Vice Palette and the pigmentation is great. This palette can be used for a light day make up of an intense night look. There is a great variety of shimmer and Matte which makes life so much easier when you only want to use one palette. The shades all really compliment each other and are really easy to apply with little fall out.

MUA Burning Embers Palette

This is the palette of my dreams at the minute, I saw this on instagrama and instantly had to check the Superdrug site for it as I knew it would be highly popular. I was really surprised as I managed to get it pretty much straight away (although I think it is out of stock now). This really reminds me of the Morphe palette which everyone wants but is always sold out. It is super affordable at only £8! The shimmery shades are my favourites as their so pigmented and you can build them up really easily.

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

I chose this palette for one of my Christmas presents, when I was choosing it I found it really hard to decide between all the options but I ended up opting for this one. I’m really glad I chose the Semi Sweet because it has a really nice mix of colours (some I still havnt used). I tend to stick to a brown, gold, copper eye on a daily basis. Plus, this whole palette smells like chocolate so what more do you want!

Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Palette

I picked this palette up last year along with some other TB products and this is definelty reached for a lot. Because it only has 4 shades it makes it so much easier to decide on a look. The shades all compliment each other and it’s great for building up looks in the evening or a subtle look during the day.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Naked 3 was the first highend palette I bought, it has such pretty soft shades perfect for spring and more evening looks. I love the variety of colours and it makes a change from only wearing browns. I do find that this palette does have a lot of fall out when applying the shadow.

If I could only own 5 mascaras…

Beauty

Mascara is the one staple that you need to love 100%, you don’t want clumpy lashes or spidery lashes, you want perfect lashes with volume & length. I have picked 5 mascaras from my collection which I couldn’t like without (yet I will because one is about to run out and I’m not buying it again).

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes

This is a sample size of the gorgeous mascara from CT, my best friend got me a lipstick for my birthday and this came with it along with a liner. I love the brush as it’s really fluffy and packs on the perfect amount of product to coat your lashes. If I wasn’t stingy I would purchase a full size one of these, but I think some drugstore mascaras are just as good and half the price.

So Susan Feather Lash

This mascara has been sat in my drawer for nearly a year! It came in a subscription box and I’ve just never got around to trying it, I have so many mascaras on the go (even more now). I opened this when I took a photo of my collection and then decided I would try it out. To my surprise it is amazing! I was totally shocked at how well it coated my lashes and it built up volume and length. It also keeps my lashes curled all day long! Another great thing about this mascara is because it’s fibres it doesn’t melt of your eyes when it gets wet, instead it just breaks of in little feathers leaving you without panda eyes.

Loreal False Lash Architect Waterproof

This has been my go to waterproof mascara for years, it creates long luscious lashes and doesn’t create panda eyes. When I get out the pool My lashes are still in place and I have to actually take them off with a cleanser. If your looking for a drugstore waterproof mascara then this is the one!

Too Faced Better Than Sex

Unfortunately this is the mascara that is about to run out, I’ve had it for a year and a half so it’s well past it’s prime. But I just love it so much, I love the packaging the best out of all the mascaras as it’s so girly and pretty. The brush is very much like the CT One above as it has soft fluffy bristles. It is really easy to build up without the fear of clumping.

Loreal False Lash Superstar

This is the newest mascara to my collection and one of my most used. I’ve never really been a fan of the double ended mascaras but this has changed my mind. The first side coats your lashes and adds volume whilst the second side adds on the length to the tip of the lashes.

How much does my face cost? High End

Beauty

I have seen these blog posts floating around the Internet and thought I would do one too. I have pulled all my higher end products from my collection and put together a face of make up. For some items I don’t have high end, such a foundation and powder because I prefer drugstore and have not actually tried and high end versions. So here is how much my fave would cost if I used the majority of my high end products.

Primer/moisturiser  Illamasqua Hydra Veil £32

Primer Rimmel Stay Matte £6.99

Foundation Loreal Infallible 24 Hour £7.99

Setting Powder Rimmel Stay Matte £3.99

Contour Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit £39

Bronzer Nars Laguna Bronzer £28

Blush Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette Luminous Flush £65

Highlighter Mac Soft & Gentle £24

Brows Anastasia Beverly Hills Dipbrow Pomade £15

Brow Mascara Model Co £13

Lash Primer Mac Prep + Prime £13.50

Mascara Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara £19

Lipstick Mac Velvet Teddy £15.50

And the grand total comes to…

£337.64

Wow! That is so much! I’m so glad that make up lasts a long time and you don’t always need to have high end make up for it to look good! I will be doing a drugstore make up cost next week so keep an eye for that because that is a fraction of the price and just as good!

Make Up of The Week

Beauty

This past week I decided to take photos of what make up I used daily, I did this hoping that I would use more of a variety and not keep using the same make up day in day out. I think I have managed to use a better variety than normal so I’m pretty proud of myself for that.

Monday

I used the Make Up Revolution primer as I find this really does help hydrate my skin before I apply anything else. For foundation I decided to use one which I hadn’t in a long time, this was the Loreal True Match. I was so surprised when I applied this as it went on lovely and blended to easily. It made my skin look great! I used a cream blush from Make Up Revolution which a dusty pink. I then set my make up using Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. To bronze/contour I used the NYC bronzer which used to be an old favorite of mine and still is. For highlighter I used the Solstice palette from Sleek which is so gorgeous. For mascara I used Mac Prep + Prime which I find makes it ten times easily to apply mascara. As I needed my mascara to be waterproof this day I used my favourite one by Loreal, False Lash Architect. I kept my brows simple this day by only applying Loreal Brow Plumper to them in the medium brown shade. And lastly I finished off with a Mac lipstick in the shade Please Me.

 Tuesday

For this days make up I decided to make it a little more colourful and gooey. I used the same primer, and then I used Max Factor 3 in 1 foundation which is a really good foundation for achieving a good base. I set it again with the Rimmel Stay Matte and then applied Nars Laguna bronzer to bronze and add some contour. I then used orgasm by Nars as blush to add a bit of colour and then the Soap & Glory highlighter because it doesn’t have a lot of shimmer in it. For eyes this day I used a Mac Paint Pot in Painterly as an eye shadow base and then used the gold shade of eyeshadow from Tarte to add a pop of sublet colour. I then used the same mascara as the day before. And to finish off I used my Dip Brow pomade from Anastasia Beverly Hills for my eye brows.

Wednesday

Today’s look was a natural one again as I wear it to work, I used one of my favorite foundations the Max Factor 3 in 1 and used a cream blush from Kiko and set my make up. I then used Nars Laguna Bronzer to contour followed my The Balm Mary-Loumanizer highlight to add some subtl shimmer. To my eyes I used Painterly by Mac and then applied the gold colour from the Tarte mini palette. As I wanted waterproof make up today I used Loreal mascara over the top of Mac Prep + Prime which I actually can’t live without!

Thursday

On Thursday I decided to do use my Milani lipstick in Rosehip which is a gorgeous bright pink perfect for spring. So I decided to do a pinky gold shimmery eye to compliment the lip using the Uban Decay Naked 3 palette. For mascara this day I used Too Faced Better Than Sex, which is amazing and makes my lashes look so long! For my face I used Revlon Colourstay along with the Maybelline concelor for under my eyes. I then set it with Rimmel Dtay Matte as always, and then used Laguna bronzer from the Nars Steven Klein palette along with the light pink blush shade. I then highlighted my cheek bones using Mac Soft & Gentle. For eyebrows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills dip row pomade and then Rimmel Brow This Way to set them.

Friday

For Friday’s make up I did a natural looking using the MUA primer base, Loreal True Match foundation and Maybelline concelor and blended it all using the sponge. I then applied the Collection highlighter to my cheek bones and set my make up using Rimmel Stay Matte powder. To contour I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills contour kit using the middle bottom shade. I then used the middle blush from the Hour Glass Abient Lighting Edit palette to add a little colour to my cheeks. For my eyes this day I used Urban Decay primer potion to prime my eyelids and then I used the golden eyeshadow from the Make Up Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette to add some subtle colour. And then I used my normal eye brows products, and a Loreal Lipstick in the shade 640.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara Review

First Impressions

This mascara has been floating around the beauty world for a while now and finally I got this for Christmas. I ended up buying it from Sephora and getting it shipped over which was cheaper than buying it over here.

The packaging is so pretty and looks really high end, which it is. This is the first product from Too Faced I have tried and so far I am impressed. I love the colour of the tube and the texture of it as its metal. When you are using the wand the handal is heavier than my normal mascara and this makes it a little harder to use.

The brush is very big, in comparison to why I normally use it is a lot wider. And because the brush is the same length along the whole of the brush it makes it a lot harder to get the outer corner eye lashes.

The first time I tried this mascara I applie for straight to the lash and it took a while to build up the volume and length that I like. The second time I applied an eye lash primer and this was a lot better. The mascara definetly adds a lot more volume to your lashes but building up length is harder.

Over all I really like the product and I will wear it on special occasions so I don’t waste it.

Winter Make Up Routine

Beauty

This is my everyday make up routine which I do for work, I like to keep it fairly natural.

The first think I do when starting my make up is my mascara, I know your meant to do foundation first but I always get mascara all over my lids. I curl my lashes first and then apply the Mac Prep+Prime mascara and then Loreal False Lash Architect mascara which is waterproof.

I then do my foundation using a make up sponge and blend this evenly over my face and set it with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder. I then do my eye brows using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow and Loreal Brow Plumper to set them.

Finally I add some dimension to my face using the Soap & Glory Solar Powder bronzer in Bronzo which creates a really subtle colour. And then I use the Kiko blush in 109 followed by Soap & Glory Glow All Out Highlighter in Shimmer Switch.

And that is all I use on my face and this takes about half an hour to apply because I spend so long on my lashes trying make them long! I then finish with a lipstick of my choice which changes daily.

Make Up Of The Day

Beauty

For a while is stopped using the beauty sponge but not I’m back to using it again, so I applied my foundation with this and made sure I had it evenly applied and blended. I then used the Tarte Contpur Stick to Contpur my cheek bones and the top of my forehead. To set my foundation I used my Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

To start my eyes off I curled my lashes using the No7 eye lash curler followed by Manna Kadar eye lash Primer. As I didn’t need my mascara to be waterproof today I used Two Faced Better Than Sex mascara followed by Benefit They’re Real to stop clumping.

For the array of my face I used the middle bottom shade of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit for bronzer/contour. I then used the middle bottom shade of the Hour Glass Palette for blush. And finally for highlight I used Mac Soft and Gentle.

To prep my eye lids for eye shadow I used Mac Paint Pot in  Painterly which create a even base for the eye shadow to stick to. For eye shadow today I decided to keep it pretty nuetral and use the Maybelline The Nudes Palette. I chose gold for my lids and then a bronzey brown for my crease.

For my brows I always use my Anastasia Dipbrow Pomadenin Soft Brown followed by the Loreal Brow Plumper. This combo helps my brows look natural and stay in place the whole day.
