A postcard from Fuerteventura

Hello from sunny Fuerteventura, I’m currently half way through my holiday and thought I would get a blogpost up featuring some of my photos from my beach walk to other day.

I am actually obsessed with all the photos I have taken whilst being here, the scenery is just amazing, and around the hotel there is loads of instagramable hot spots perfect for capturing some outfit shots.

I am staying at the TUI Sensimar Royal Palm & Spa hotel, the hotel it’s self is beautiful like I said, the perfect Instagram hotel, palm trees everywhere, grey and white walls and amazing food!

The wind how ever is a little bit too strong, this means that even though it is really sunny it doesn’t feel hot. For me me this is the perfect weather because it means I never get too hot that I have to go inside, instead I can sit outside all day and work on my tan.

If you want to see more pics be sure to head over to Instagram and follow me @toriiitoriii and @toriiitravels

See you soon xx

The £10 Primark Dress I’m obsessed with…

Hello lovlies,

A few weeks ago I was lucky enough to spot this beautiful dress in Primark for only £10, I instantly fell in love with it and had to buy it!

I have always wanted a wrap dress but never found one which fitted me well, I always find sizing in Primark hit or miss, I ended up getting this dress 3 sizes bigger than the swim suit I also bought from there!

I think what also drew me to this dress was the colour, I could tell straight away that it would look stunning in photos, whether it be in a garden on a beach, lets just say I’m really looking forward to wearing it on holiday!

So, the downside is, my first dress actually broke, just before I was due to be picked up for a night out! Not cool! I had to make the best of a bad situation and safety pin myself into it,it worked, no one knew any different. The next week I returned the dress and re bought it, so far so good, but I am going to sew the inside button on so it’s a tad bit stronger whilst I’m on holiday.

Some clothes in Primark are definitely worth the money, others are not, I always find myself saying “its not worth that from Primark”, when somethings over priced, but this dress for £10 was a bargain. They also have the dress in a gorgeous pink, not gonna lie, wish I had found it in my size because I can only imagine how cute it would have been with a tan.

Thanks for reading xx

Lazy Day Morning Routine

Here is a lazy day get ready with me which is kind of like a morning routine.

The first thing I do when I wake up is head to the bathroom with my cute little Zoella cup and full it up with water. Over the past few weeks I have been trying to drink a whole cup before I have any breakfast to keep me extra hydrated to see if it helps my skin.

As today was a miserable day I decided to light a little Primark candle, these are my favourites as there only £1 yet really cute! And I can actually smell it burning away from my bed.

On days when I’m doing nothing or have a long time to get ready I like to do a quick skincare routine to refresh my skin.

I have been using the Garnier Rose Water Cleanser to just remove any dirt built up over the night followed by the Boots Botanics All Bright Toner to brighten my skin.

And then to finish I go in with a brightening serum followed by the Clinique Moisturising Gel to hydrate and get my skin ready for the day.

Now onto the important bit, breakfast! Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day as I love a big bowl of rice crispies. I also love a coffee in the morning, normally in the summer I would turn it into an ice coffee but as it’s not a very nice day it’s just a hot latte. I eat my breakfast whilst watching YouTube catching up on my subscriptions. And gradually drink my coffee while I’m getting ready wsnits way to hot to drink it straight away.

And now, make up time! As I am actually not going anywhere I wanted to test out products which I don’t usually reach for to see if they work for my skin.

Primer Rimmel Fix & Perfect

Foundation Maybelline Fit Me

Concealer MUA Cover & Conceal

Cream Bronze Seventeen

Brows Benefit Browzing & Gimme Brow

Bronzer Sephora Caledonia

Before I get dressed I like to do the last minute bits, for my hair I like to douse it in dry shampoo. My favourite dry shampoo is from the fresh one from Co Lab, this is also great because if your in a rush you don’t need to worry about the white marks left in your hair, because there isn’t! I then slather on some body lotion to try and maintain the the little tan I do have and then spritz my body in a perfume.

And there you have it my lazy day morning routine for when I’m really not doing anything exciting at all!

Exploring Spinalonga

While I was in Crete, Greece I also visited another Island called Spinalonga. My mum had been on about going here because she had read the book ‘The Island’ which is all about the island what happened on the Island. I have to admit I did listen for the first part of the toe but being in the boiling hot sun I soon got fed up, but I got the gist. That night I did go and Google it and did my own research which I found really interesting. The island was basically a place for Lepurs to go back about 50 years, it was an island where people with Leperacy were sent to live so they didn’t infect the rest of the population. It was really interesting visiting and seeing where they lived and learning about their lives. If you have no idea about anything I’ve said, google it, It really is quite interesting. So here are my photos from visiting the island.

A week in Crete // The Island Hotel

Over the summer I went on my summer holiday to Crete, Greece. I stayed in the most amazing hotel for a week in Gouves. The hotel was called the Island and I definelty recommend it! When we arrived we had a long walk to the room and thought, oh no this is going to be a repeat of last year (we had to change rooms three times!) but low and behold it wasn’t! When the porter showed us into the room we were shocked! What we were looking at was the downstairs, and there was a spiralling stair case going upstairs! That wasn’t even the best part, the best was that our room opened up on the pool and we had our own private decking to sit out on! The amazing this is that we never paid for this room, we had only paid for a basic room so we couldn’t believe it! This was the cheapest holiday we’ve had at £700 each yet it was the most amazing hotel and room! As we arrived really late at night it was pretty much straight to bed.

As you can see this hotel was picturesque, everything about it was perfect and totally instagramable.

The dining area was huge and there was loads of seats. They had 4 different areas to sit depending on where you wanted to be, inside or out, undercover or out in the sun. So this is perfect, obviously we had to sit he furthest away which meant walking a long was to where the food was set out.

There were 4 pools in the hotel, yet I only swam in 2. Even around the pools and in the pools it wasn’t busy, it always seemed like people were coming and going and the hotel was never full which was really nice.

In the reception area they also have FREE flavoured water! I have never had this at any hotel before, so it was great being able to call into reception and get a glass of lemon water to hydrate.

When booking this hotel we thought it was cheap because of the area it was in, normally Thomsons hotels are in the middle of nowhere and have nothing close. But out the back of this hotel was a few little touristy shops and restaurants and out to the left of the hotel was even more shops! The area was perfect!

Even the sunset from dinner was perfect!

I definelty recommend this hotel 100% and I wouldn’t go back for sure!

Summer Essentials

Pamper Products In the summer it’s great to still have a pamper, a good face mask, hair mask and foot scrub! This will get you ready for your holiday! Also a couple of whitening strips to make your teeth stand out!

Shower Essentials A good smelling and cute shower gel is a must! This one is by Korres and is the scent Santorini, which I think is very fitting as I am going to a Greek Island.

Travel Sized Skincare This is when all those beauty boxes I had been receiving start to pay off as they are perfect sizes for taking away with you!

After Sun Skincare After a day of tanning in the sun you need a good moisturiser so I have picked the Soap & Glory one, and also a after sun from Malibu. To enhance your tan you can use a shimmer body oil, this one from Boots is perfect as its in a plastic bottle and is fairly light compared to some glass bottles out there.

Cute Phone Cases These are a must all year round but in the summer I like to have summer themed ones! The left pineapple one is from EBay and the cute sea shell one is from Skinny Dip.

The Essentials Sunscreen is obviously a must, no doubt about that so I make sure I have medium protection. Then ofcourse you need a. Decent deodorant, one that will last a long time and one that won’t get all over your cute summer clothes and leave marks! Next is a lip balm with spf as you don’t want to burn your lips. Mine is from Malibu. And then to add beachhead my waves to your hair a sea salt spray, once again this is a travel sized one from Parlour so it’s perfect for chucking in your beach bag and spraying on your hair.

Flash Tattoos These are the perfect cute summer accessory especially when it’s to hot to wear actual jewellery!

Polaroid My Polaroid gets one trio a year and that is on my summer holiday as I love to capture pretty picture on it and hang them in my room when I get home. There’s just something so nice about having a actual photo print out instantly.

Mermaid Makeup Look

I was feeling rather creative one night and decided to expand on my blue eye liner and create this beautiful mermaid looking eye make up! I am absolutly in love with it and cannot believe I actually did this myself, as I am not a make up artist. I normally really struggle with eye shadow and finding colours that work together but recently I’ve been on a roll and definelty practice makes perfect.

This look is created using one palette, and you may think that it must be an expensive high end palette as these colours are so vibrant and beautiful. But no this palette was about £8 and is from Make Up Revolution! This is the Mermaids Forever palette and contains loads of really bright fun eye shadows as well as more wearable brown and coppery shades. I have to admit I did only pick this palette up because it said ‘Mermaid’ but now I am so happy that I did!

As a base I used the bottom blue/purple shade.

I then applied the metallic blue on the lid.

And then packed on the two green metallic shades in the inner corner and lid area.

To blend everything out I then used a mixture of the two purple shades.

I absolutly love this look but I don’t think I am brave enough to wear it out the house! But I will be taking this palette on holiday with me so maybe I will recreate it!

Summer Morning Routine

Waking Up In the summer I am way more motivated to get up and out of bed as I want to catch some rays in the garden. On this day I had set my alarm for half 9 but woke naturally at 9, I always find thy if I wake up naturally I am lesstired than if I have a alarm going off in my ear. So ofcourse it’s a little to early to go and sit in the garden so I still like to lounge around in bed for a while to enjoy my summers morning. Also now that it’s the summer holidays one of my jobs has now ended till September so I am only work in the late afternoon/evening which is perfect!

Social Media

While I am lying in bed the first thing I do is pull my blind up a bit so add some extra light into my room so it stops me from going back to sleep. Next I grab my phone and IPad. My first social media stop is Instagram (@juliettetalks) to catch up on everything I’ve missed while I was asleep. I then check on snapchat and then my watsapp messages from my friends and work. Once I have done this I started watching my YouTube subscriptions so I can catch up on them. By this time I’m getting a little hungry so I make myself a big glass of water to hydrate myself.

Once I have finsihed up with YouTube I then venture downstairs and make my breakfast. My breakfast changes all the time, depending on what I am doing that day depends on what I have. So today I just had some jam toast as I didn’t need a big breakfast as I would be having lunch before I went to work. After I have had my breakfast I go back upstairs and make my bed.

Getting Ready

Getting ready in the mornings now is super easy as it requires no make up as I am not going anywhere. I put on a playsuit so I can go and sit in the sun. I then apply my face sunscreen and let that sit for about half an hour before I actually go outside. I then collect up everything I need to sit in the garden and keep myself entertained. This means sunglasses, lip balm, a bottle, sunscreen, magazine and my notebook to plan some blogposts.

Catching some rays

Finally it is about 11am and the sun is just getting warm and is right over my garden so I can enjoy the rest of my relaxing morning.

Boots No7 Shimmer Body Oil

I picked up this beautiful shimmer body oil from Boots for £10. It is very similar to the Bodyshop one, which I have yet to purchase but hope to do so! I figured this one would be great for taking on holiday as it was in a plastic bottle rather than a glass bottle like many other oil. I have been wanting to try this out for ages but as it seems we have had all our hot weather I will be saving a proper review until I am in Greece and can use it everyday while I am tanned.

Above you can see how it comes out of the bottle, it is very golden and very pigmented. But once it is rubbed in it is very subtle but you can see the glow and how radiant your skin has become. I like the fact that as the consistency is quite think it doesn’t just pour out of the bottle and go everywhere. It pretty much stayed put on my arm until I rubbed it in.

It smells so nice and spa like, this will be perfect for the summer!

Stay tuned for a full review sometime in August once we have had some sun!
