Everyday makeup routine

Beauty

I feel like I am pretty set in my ways when it comes to my everyday makeup routine, I tend to use the same set of products and do it all in a certain order and never really switch it up. So here is is my daily make up for work, it generally takes me about 20-25 minutes to slowly apply it all and be ready.

The first thing I do is prime my face, I have been using the Makeup Revolution Pore Blur recently, this has a very silicone feel to it and it makes my skin feel really smooth and soft afterwards.

Once my base is done, I then go and apply my mascara, I have to do this before I do any more of my face make up because I make such a mess no matter what. I have been using the Natural Collection waterproof mascara as I picked it up on a whim, decided to try it out, and low and behold it’s actually really good.

After I have cleaned up all the mascara which is on my face, I apply my foundation. I have just ran out of my favourite one, so I am going to give the Revlon Colourstay* a go for a while and see how I get on with it. To conceal under my eyes I have been using the Thin Lizzy concealer* as this is pretty full coverage.

To set my make up in place I use the MUA Cosmetics loose translucent powder. I then bronze my face using a bronzer from MUA Cosmetics which was only £1, such a bargain. Followed by the Zoella x Colourpop blush which is super pretty.

To add some highlight to my face I have been using a highlighter stick from Natural Collection which is very similar to Glossier Haloscope Quartz, so I am super happy to have found a dupe for it!

Finally for my brows I use the HD brow pencil from Sainsburys to define my brows and Loreal Brow Plumper to set them in place.

Autumn Lip Picks

Beauty

Welcome back, today’s post is all about my autumn lip picks! I have gone throw my collection and picked out the lipsticks which I think scream fall!

I have picked out a real variety from the typical dark berries to the dark nudes.

The three lipsticks across the top are pretty much my staples for autumn time. On the left is Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, this is a less typical fall shade, but is very ideal for wearing to work as it’s still a dark nudey brown. In the middle is the prettiest shade, Charlotte by Nars! I need to wear this a lot more this year as it’s such a gorgeous dark plumy red shade perfect for adding a pop of autumn to your make up. And on the right is another work autumnal shade, Pink Cocoa from Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

I have picked out two Colour Pop shades, on the left is Saturday and in the middle is Avenue. I really love the shades of these, but I don’t get along very well when wearing them, they flake off half my lips and look awful! Please let me know if there is a way to make these stay put, because I have so many and can’t use them! I then have two Mac lipsticks in the shades Whirl and Amourous. Whirl is definitely the more typical brown woodland shade where as Amourous has a hint of purple and berry shades. I have then also picked out a Mac liquid lipstick in the shade High Drama, this screams autumn and is the perfect dark lip! I also really love he formula of the Mac liquid lipsticks as they last for so long!

I have also picked out a Revlon Liquid Lip Colour in the shade Addiction, this is really creamy and longlasting. And finally I have two soft matte lip creams from NYX, these are in the shades Transylvania and Copenhagen. To be honest I won’t be getting much wear out of these as they are really old and dried up but I can’t bring myself to get rid of them!

After wiring this post I’ve realised how many autumnal lipsticks I need to start wearing! I’m sure I will pack quite a few of them to take away with me on my next holiday!

Loreal Paradise Exactic Review

Beauty

This beautiful mascara must be one of the most talked about mascaras in a long time, and I can definitely see why! It is AMAZING.

First off all, the packaging. I think this appeals to every blogger and lover of all things rose gold so it gets a 10 out of 10 for first impressions and presentation skills. This is without a doubt one of the prettiest mascaras I own, it’s on par with Too Faced Better Than Sex.

The brush, its pretty much perfect. It applied the perfect amount of product, it doesn’t go clumpy and it creates so much volume and length. It really is all round a great product.

It is also so easy to apply and easy to work with. I don’t think I’ve ever had a time where it hasn’t done what I wanted it too (i.e. Gone clumpy or looked awful). The first time I wore this one of my colleagues asked if I was wearing a new mascara because my lashes looked like they were lash extensions! What a compliment.

I truely feel like I have found my perfect mascara and I don’t feel like I need to even bother buying any new ones as I can just keep repurchasing this one over and over…

Have you tried this mascara out? Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below.

Everyday Make Up with Only 10 Items

Beauty

As I’m now back in the swing of work properly after being on holiday for six weeks, I’ve been really struggling with getting up in the morning. Although I really don’t mind doing my makeup, basically know that I look better with it rather than without it, so not doing my make up is not an option. In order to have an extra 10 minutes in bed, I have picked out only 10 items of make up (one is a palette) in order to reduce the amount of time messing around and finding products and wasting time by not knowing what I want to use. So here are my 10 item everyday make up picks…

1. Prime Before I even look in the mirror which is inside my make up bag, I apply The Ordinary High-Adherance Silicone Primer which makes my skin feel super soft and makes it look better than what it is.

2.Mascara While my primer sinks in I apply my mascara, my go to at the minute along with half of he blogging community is Loreal Paradise Exactic. This makes my lashes look long and full of volume which is what everyone wants obviously!

3.Foundation Now my primer is set and lashes are looking on ‘fleek’ it’s time to get some even skin, my go to foundation at the minute is Mac Studio Fix. It is a little dark, but I’m trying to use it up so I can buy a lighter shade. This creates a pretty flawless matte base and already I’m looking so much better.

4. Under Eye Concealer I have finally found my perfect under eye concealer in the form of Bourjois Radiance Reveal. This is really righting, hydrating and doesn’t go cakey!

5. Cream Contour I have recently (in the past 6 months) become obsessed with cream contour, I use it as a base for my powder bronzer. I find it lasts much longer and looks more natural. I have been loving the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Contour Stick in the shade dark to contour my cheeks and then I apply it on my forehead to add some shadow.

6. I then set under my eyes with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, and then I set the rest of my face.

7. Next is my little cheat product, in order to make this a 10 piece make up look I chose to use a palette which contains bronzer, blush and high light. The chosen one for today is the Rosy Flush palette by Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

8. For my brows I have been using a pomade by MUA Cosmetics, I really like the look this particular pomade creates and it’s really easy to use and not go to over the top.

9. To finish my brows I set them using a brow mascara from Loreal.

10. And finally I complete my look with a nude lipstick, the shade I’ve chosen for today is Pink Cocoa by Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

Let me know what your 10 staple products are.

Mini Make Up Haul

Beauty

As each month rolls around so does a new make up haul, this month I did quite a bit of shopping on Boots.com and Amazon to pick up some bargains!

Basically this month was about buying make up I have wanted to try out for a while, and one of those items was a Loreal Infallible eye shadow. This is so pigmented and shimmery it’s amazing!

I have been eyeing up these Revlon Lip colours for a while now, and I didn’t expect them to be this big. You get so much product, and if you buy them from Amazon they are £3 cheaper! I will be doing a full review of these soon but so far they are amazing! They are not drying at all on your lips and the colour stays for ages!

I then also picked up another NYX Soft Matte Lipcream and this is in the shade Amstersam. I already have two others from NYX and I have to say I actually prefer the Revlon ones!

Every month I like to buy a little bit of make up, and each month I seem to be focuses on one kind of product so this months focus was foundation as you can see. I decided to pick these up and try them out. I really liked the look the Loreal Nude Magique especially the bottle, it just looks so quaint and cute. I then also wanted to try the Loreal Infallible foundation as I have the matte one in the squeezy tube. And finally I picked up the Barry M matte foundation, I already tried this a few years ago but I had a shade that was for when I was tanned so I didn’t get much wear out of it. I then also picked up a primer from Maybelline Baby Skin and this one is a blurring one.

I will be doing a review for each of these items individually so stay tuned for then they go up!

Spring Make Up Look // Urban Decay Naked 3

Beauty

The official first day of Spring was on Sunday so I decided to create a spring make up look using the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette.

To begin with I used the MUA primer which I am loving at the minute, it creates a smooth base for your foundation to glide on. As it is starting to get warmer I want my make up to last longer so I opted for Revlon Colourstay for foundation today as I know this lasts and gives a lot of coverage. To set my base I used Rimmel Stay Matte.

To contour and add some definition I used the bottom middle shade of the Anastasia Beverly Hills Contour Kit. For the rest of my face I used a highlighter from the Solstice Sleek palette (purple shade) and then an Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is Luminous Flush.

I of course used my usual mascara, Loreal False Lash Architect. And then for my brows I filled them in using dip brow from Anastasia Beverly Hills followed by Loreal Brow Plumper to set.

For my eye shadow I wanted something springy, so I chose my Naked 3 palette as this is perfect. First off all I used a Kiko Metallic Shine Shadow as a base in the shade 02, as this is a lovely metallic colour. I then used nooner from the Naked 3 palette in the outer eye as a transition shade, followed by Factory to darken the crease up. I then used Buzz on the inner eye to add more or a metallic shine. I think this is a super springy look as it adds a pop of colour rather than the browns and nudes I usually use.

For lips I have chosen three options.

Milano Rose Hip which is a bright hot pink, New Look Candy Pink which is a creamy matte nude pink and Rimmel Kate Moss in the shade 28 which is more sheer and peach toned.

Make Up Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette Review // MOTD

Beauty

I primed my face using the MUA Pro – Base which leaves my skin feeling so soft and even. I then wet my make up sponge and applied my Revlon Colorstay foundation. I used Maybelline Dream Lumi concelor under my eyes to highlight followed by contouring with the Tarte Contour Stick. To set my face I used Rimmel Stay Matte Poweder and then applied my Nars Laguna Brozer, a Make Up Revolution Blush and Mac Soft and Gentle Highligter.

I curled my lashes using this old curler from No7. I then applied Mac Prep + Prime to help my mascara go on easier and then I used Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara which I love, I am so happy they have bought out a waterproof version! For my eye brows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow in soft brown followed by Loreal Brow Plumper to set.

I decided to try out my new Make Up Revolution Mermaids Forever Palette and it is gorgeous! I am so pleased with it! I really didn’t think that this palette would be wearable on an everyday basis but I think it actually is. For today I have done really simple but shimmery eye. I used the shade Bay on my inner lid which is has a pearlescent shine to it. I then used Ariel on my outer corner which is a coppery red. And then in the outer v to add more dimension I used Seabed which is a shimmery brown. I then lined my eyes using Whale which is a dark grey. This palette has easily become my favourite after this, I absolutely love the look and can’t wait to try out more colours! The pigmentation is so good and I love the fact it has shimmery and matte colours. This palette will definelty be coming on holiday with me as it has such a variety of colours!

2016 Make Up Storage

Beauty

I always like to move stuff around in my room and I love moving my make up around. The only thing is for the first few weeks you always go in the wrong drawer when trying to find something. My make up collection has grown a little bit since I last did a make up storage post but it’s still quite small. I have all my face and eye make up stored in a tall chest of drawers and then my lips products on a small chest of drawers next to it.

Prep My first drawer contains all my moisturisers and toners that I apply before I apply make up. I have a lot of products on the go but I am trying to use them up. At the back of the drawer I have a few sample sized products and random moisturisers. And I also have spare moisturisers which I buy when they are on offer. I really like using the Vitamin E toner water from Superdrug at the minute.

Coverage The second drawer is primer, foundation, concelor and powder. There are also some false eyelashes and lip balms at the back as I ran out of room to put them anywhere else.

Highlight, Bronze, Contour This drawer has all my powder blushes, bronzers and highlight in the left side. In the middle are my moe high end products and palettes. And the drawer on the right has all cream products and a sample size of Toof Face.

Eyes This is drawer one of two for my eyes and contains mascaras in the left side and eye liners and eyelash curlers in the middle. The left side contains all my eye brow products.

Eyeshadow The final drawer contains my eye shadow palettes and individuals. I much prefer having a palettes rather than the individual eyeshadows so that’s why I have a few. The left side has all my eye shadow brushes and primers.

Lipstick

Here is an over view of my lip products and the storage.

In their own little section I have my Mac lipsticks which I love. I then have my face brushes behind them (which really need a clean). I need to buy a bigger brush container because not all of them fit in. I have a lipstick holder to hold my favourite and most used products so they are easy to find.  My mum got me this little jar from Next for only a pound so I decided it would make a great home for my lip liners. The only problem now is that I want to fill it up!
I then have two acrylic drawers from Amazon for about £11 each which I store the rest of my lipstick and lipgloss in.

Top 10 Make Up Products

Beauty

My top powder is Rimmel Stay Matte, I work in a hot environment and this lasts my whole shift and I don’t even need to touch it up. This is perfect for a day out in he summer when you want a shiny free face the whole day.

My go to foundation everyday has been Rimmel Colorstay, and it does what it says, it stays! I end up wearing this in the pool for 4 hours sometimes and I get out and it’s still on my face. And this is after going under water, being splashed and rubbing my face.

This is my natural go to eye brow product, for the days when you want a natural look Browdrama sets the hairs and adds a little bit of colour.

I have been using this bronzer for a while now and love the colour and I believe it is very similar to Benefit Hoola Bronzer.

I purchased Browzing from Benefit a few years ago when I was in LA and I still have loads left. I only really use it when I want a heavier brow look.

I love purple lipstick and this is by far my favourite shade I’ve found so far. It is in the shade 1000 lavender voltage from Maybelline.

I have been using this mascara for a year now and I don’t think I will ever change. It gives me the perfect lashes and it is waterproof and just amazing!

I love using eye shadow and the Urban Decay Naked 3 is perfect for every day looks as well as The Balm Nude ‘tude’. They are both easy to use and blend and have very natural colours.

This is the first Mac product I have ever bought so it has to be one of my favourites. This colour is going to worn a lot over the summer to add a pop of colour.
