Superdrug’s Hot Cloth Cleanser

Beauty

Whilst I was having a browse in Superdrug I came across their own brand of skincare, I’m all up for trying out a cheaper version of more expensive brands so I decided to pick up the hot cloth cleanser which is a dupe for Liz Earl Hot Cloth Cleanser. I have used a sample sized of the Liz Earl in the past, I liked it, but not enough to warrant spending £16 on a product just remove make up.

The Hot Cloth Cleanser from Superdrug was less than £3, I think normally its £6, but there is normally a deal or two on in there.
The cleanser contains kiwi and mulberry to revive skin’s radiance and even out skin tone, the coco butter melts into the skin and removes the make up.

I love using this every night to remove my make up, I love the fact you can massage it into your skin and actively see the makeup melting away. I prefer using this to a make up wipe as I find it removes make up a lot more efficiently. Once the formula is massages into your skin, rinse the cloth under warm water and gently wipe away your make up. This cloth is very quick drying which I like as I don’t have to wait hours for it dry so I can pack it away.

So, overall I love this version of hot cloth cleanser, I love the smell, I love how well it removes make up and I love the price. I will definitely be repurchasing a few more bottles of this whilst it is on offer.

Snow day essentials with Dokotoo {gifted}

Fashion, Favourites

Here are some of the photos I took this snow day with some links to my outfit.

Dokotoo kindly got in touch and asked if I would like to pick 3 items from their site to style out and take photos off, this is the second time I have worked with them so I already had some ideas as to what I wanted to own.

I chose this grey teddy bear coat, I already own it in pink, but I just thought that the grey would be a nice addition to my wardrobe and break up all the pink I am wearing at the moment. I love the fit of this jacket and I love how warm it is. On this snow day I only had a jumper on underneath, and I was never cold!
I picked this lovely pink cable knit as I havn’t seen anything like this is the shops and really liked the look of it online. I love the style of this knit piece, and I really love the cable pattern down the front.
I styled the jumper and coat with a pair of shiny black jeggings from New Look which are super old, along with some black studded boots.

As you can see I had a lot of fun being able to style these out on the snow day, which was fab, this is definitely one of my favourite winter outfits.

The ultimate glow from Pixi Beauty

Beauty

On Christmas Eve this amazing surprise arrived from Pixi Beauty, I had no idea it was on its way and I had no idea that I was even worthy of receiving it! But this package in itself is a great way to finish the year off!

The Pixi Glow Tonic has been my go to toner for a couple of years now, I have experimented with other glycolic timers but I always come back to this one. It’s very gentle on your skin but you can definitely noticed the difference when you use it. I find it very good to use when I am having a bad breakout as exfoliates the skin and dries up my spots.

This is a massive 200ml of the toner, which is also personalised! I have never had a skincare or make or product with my name of it before so this is pretty out of this world. I am beyond grateful for this huge bottle of glorious glow and cannot wait to use it throughout 2019.

I want to say a huge thank you to Pixi Beauty for sending me this xx

Starting to scrapbook

Beauty

When I was growing up I always loved to scrapbook and make photo albums of ALL my photos, but along the way I stopped, I stopped being creative and I stopped printing my photos off as I pretty much only needed photos online digitally. This being said I figured towards the end of 2018 I wanted to start scrapbooking and having a place where I could see my photos other than on facebook or instagram.

For Christmas I asked for the HP Sprocket which is a phone printer. It prints out really tiny cute photos which remind me of polaroids. I figured this would be a different way to have my photos displayed, although the paper does work out a little on the expensive side. I also decided to get some photos printed in different sizes from Boots.

I found some really nice scrapbooks from Wilkinsons for only £1.50, so I bought 7 of them! I really love the colours of the front and the size of them are pretty perfect, plenty of room to fit in all my photos.

I then did a bit of Pinterest research and found some other cute scrapbook ideas, I found people using watercolours to make cute colourful backgrounds, so I bought my own from Amazon.

I also liked the idea of using pastel coloured highlighters to add a pop of colour and then write headings over the top.

To add a bit more colour to the pages I found a book full of different patterned paper to create some borders.

Let me know if there are any other cute ways to decorate a scrapbook xx

2019 Goals

Beauty

Happy New Year, today is the first day 2019 so I figured I would start with some goals I want achieve over the next 365 days.

Hit 10k on Instagram

Instagram has been so temperamental over the past year with the changes made to it, it has made growing so much harder, but I’m still persevering on and trying to build it up. I’m currently on 7,600 so I think 10,000 followers is a very realistic goal reach hopefully by halfway through the year.

More Fashion Posts

In 2018 I really got into my fashion photography and grew a lot more comfortable in front of the camera rather than behind. I think some of my favourite photos from last year are of photos of me. In 2019 I want to create more fashion posts, be in front of the camera more and be more comfortable taking photos in random locations.

Get more creative

Over the past few months I feel like my photography style has become more creative, but I want to be even more creative. I want to go out and explore and take photos in new locations, I want to buy more props for flatlays and just create more content.

Grow my blog

I’m pretty sure this was on my list last year, but I definitely did not look after my blog this past year, I really neglected it and focused a lot more on Instagram. So in 2019 I will be posting twice a week (at least) for the whole year!

My Year: 2018

Uncategorized

January

In January I visited Bournemouth for one night with my mum as a birthday trip, this is near enough an annual trip for us as we have been going since I was born. I then also decided to have a trip out of the country for my birthday as well and visit Paris with my best friend. We did one day in Disney Land and then one day exploring the city.

February

In February half term my mum and I took a 1 night trip over to Belfast. We explored the city, and it even snowed on the second day.

April

In April my mum and I headed over to Italy, this was pretty much a once in a lifetime trip where I got to tick a lot places of my list including Positano. We visited Pompei, Positano, Capri, Sorrento, Naples. After that trip I went up north to visit my best friend in Manchester for a couple of nights.

May

In May I went to London to visit my favourite cafe, Peggy Porschen where I got super cute photos. I then discover another bakery just down the road where they sold the cutest watermelon ice creams.

July/August

July and August are the busy months, as I work in a school I’m lucky enough to get 6 weeks off during the summer which is great! I went on a luxury holiday to Fuerteventura where I really got into taking outfit photos.

That was then followed by multiple trips to the sunflower and lavender fields and a trip to Friends Fest in Manchester along with a day trip to Cambridge.

I also went on the cutest little picnic with one of my friends and got the cutest photos!

October

In October half term I went to Porto for a little bit of sunshine before winter, I think this is one of my favourite places I have been this years as it was just the perfect balance between city and beach. Once I was home by best friend from Manchester came to visit for 2 nights, this meant heading to the pumpkin patch.

December

On the first of December I went to Arras, France and Bruge, Belgium with some friends from work and my best friend. We had such an amazing time, and got so many photos!

Cosy days in with Femme Luxe

Fashion

I was so very kindly let loose on the Femme Luxe website and aloud to pick out some dresses, as it is winter I decided to go for more of a cosy vibe.

The first dress is one of my favourites, it’s a gorgeous muted lilac, it just reminds me of cosy winter days all snuggled up watching your favourite. The jumper it’s self is quite thin, I don’t like a really heavy knit as I find them unflattering, but as this one is quite thin it really suits me.

The fit of the jumper dress is pretty much the prefect the length for me, I couldn’t get away with it being any shorter and calling it a dress.

Here is the link the dress

This black and white jumper dress is a really cute addition to my wardrobe, for me it is pretty much the perfect length, any one else over 5ft 3 would be wearing this as more of a jumper. But I think this will look really cute with tights and knee high boots and a big warm coat.

I love that the sleeves are wide and the block colours add a little something to the dress making it stand out.

You can find it here

Next up is this over sized sweatshirt, I own nothing like this nor have I seen anything like this in any other shop. I love the fact it’s a long hoody, which is perfect for cosy days.

You can find similar here

And last but not least we have this beautiful snake print shirt dress, I love the style of this dress as you can either dress it up or dress it down and it still looks good. As animal print is all in right now I figured I may as well jump on the band wagon and get in with the trend.

Three Ways I’ve Changed My Skincare Routine

Beauty

1.

The first way I have changed my skincare routine is by adding a cleansing brush, the one I have recently been obsessed with is from Magnitone*. I love using this twice a day to completely cleanse my skin, afterwards my skin feels so soft and refreshed. I have found that this has helped greatly with the texture and tone of my skin, and in the most part any scaring from old spots has started to clear up.

2.

Next up, I have found that using a liquid exfoliator has benefited my skin hugely. I have been using three exfoliating products, the first being Pixi Glow Tonic* which is a toner which contain Glycolic Acid which gently exfoliates the skin to leave it glowing. I use this every night after cleansing and masking.
Another product which is great at renewing your skin is The Body Shop Pure Resurfacing Liquid Peel, massage this into to a dry face and your left with loads of little clumps which supposedly is dead skin cells.
And lastly, the Lactic Acid from The Ordinary is a superficial peeling formula, I really find this helps my skin when I am having bad breakouts as it breaks them down and dries them out.

3.

Lastly, I have stopped using ‘anti-aging’ moisturisers and started using moisturisers which are more suitable for my skin type, which currently is combination with fair few breakouts. My two top moisturisers for helping my current skin are the Dermalogica Skin Smoothing Cream* and Simple Anti Blemish Moisturiser. These two moisturisers have helped my skin improve a lot as I am giving my skin what it needs currently.

Testing out a new cleansing brush| BEGlow PURA

Beauty

Skincare is my passion, I love to try anything and everything so when Be Glow got in contact for me to test out their new deep cleansing brush it was a dream come true.

I’ve only had it a short while but as soon as I took it out the box I fell in love! Its nothing like I’ve used before, I have the Clarisonic Mia, but thats pretty hefty compared to this little dinky device. The device is so small and compact instantly making you love it. I already can tell this is going to be a staple in my cleansing routine and as its so tiny it means it’s perfect for travel!

The brush head is silicone, which is amazing for helping clear up troublesome skin as its so easy to clean and bacteria doesn’t get trapped like it would on a traditional brush.

The first time I used this brush I didn’t read any instructions, I just tried and tested it on my own. There is only one button to turn it on which makes it really easy and simple to use.

I found that the brush did foam up my cleanser all so well, so I would definitely recommend massing it into your face using the brush so you get a deeper clean. I haven’t decided yet if I like the fact it doesn’t have a timer built in, where as some cleansing brushes time for a minute and switch off, this one doesn’t, meaning that you could get really carried away and be stood ages cleansing your face (but who wouldn’t like that?).

Over all I think it is such a perfect addition to my skincare routine and I am sure I will be using it for the foreseeable future!

My top 5 skincare products | Summer

Beauty

Skincare is a huge passion of mine and I am so lucky now to be sent a huge selection from amazing brands, some of which will be featured in this post. Doing my morning and evening skincare is my one of my favourite parts of the day, I just love being able to use all my products and of course try new things out! But today we’re talking about my top 5, these are the ones who have changed the skincare game for me over the past month…

Dermalogica Pre Cleanse

Last month I was contacted by the Dermalogica team and asked to be a #skinfluencer which was totally amazing! I never thought I would be working with such a big brand, and one that does really effective skincare! Even though I love all the products I was sent I have two which really stand out from the rest of my collection, the first being the Pre Cleanse. The pre cleanse is an oil which melts impurities and make up from the skin, it literally gets rid of everything before you use your actual cleanser, it’s a sure way of making sure you are make up free especially before bed!

Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant

The second product from Dermalogica is the microfoliant, this bottle is full of a powder make from rice which once mixed with water realises papain, salicylic acid and rice enzymes which polish the skin. It basically acts as a daily exfoliator, and contains other ingredients to help soothe and balance your skin tone. I love the fact it is in powder form, it’s such a unique idea!

Sanoflore Aqua Magnifica

This toner has fast become my favourite, I use it mornings and night to tone my skin. The smell alone is enough to make me love it, it smells so refreshing and clean which makes my skin feel really lovely afterwards. The toner is designed to release impurities, oxygenate skin, tighten pores and illuminate.

Arkana 360 i-TECH Detox Day

I have been using the Arkana detox mist for a couple of months now, I use it every morning after toner. It is a daily protective face spray, he ingredients help protect against harmful factors in the environment which I think is great especially in the summer when you are out in the sun more or on holiday. I find it really refreshing and my skin loves it!

Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask

Finally I have a favourite face mask of mine, you may see this one advertised all over Facebook (I do), basically it’s a pink face mask so what’s not to love? But it is also great for your skin, it brightens and detoxifies getting rid of spots and stopping spots appearing when used regularly. I also really love the smell of the mask, there’s just something so relaxing about wearing it and being able to smell it too!

What are your favourite skincare products at the moment? Xx

The shoes I’m obsessed with right now

Beauty

I was recently contacted by the website Everything5pounds.com and asked if I would like to promote some pieces from their site, I said yes, obviously! Over the summer I have placed a few orders on their site and actually love their shoe collection, especially their sandals more than anything else I had seen online or in shops. So I knew I would be able to find cute things that I could style. Just because it’s “cheap” doesn’t mean it’s a load of rubbish, they stock a lot of really great brands at a really low price. Although none of the shoes I bought were a specific brand, I have bought sandals from there in the past that were from Urban Outfitters. I think that is also a really great aspect of the site, you really don’t know what brand your buying until it turns up, if it’s a less known brand then that’s ok, if it’s a pretty good brand than you’ve got yourself a bargain! Either way, I think of you can find something on there for £5 I think you’ve got yourself a bargain, I sure know I have.

So, they let me pick 4 items and I got to choose from their whole site, I feel like buying clothes is a risky business especially when your not sure on the brands and the sizing, but instead buying shoes is a lot easier. I decided to pick out 4 pairs of shoes, I don’t know why I need 4 pairs, but their all mine now!

As it’s nearing the end of summer I wanted a really cute pair to see out the end of summer and the start or autumn. I have been eyeing up these pink tassel shoes for well over a month now, but I was a bit like “will I actually wear them?”. But as they were going to be free, I decided to bite the bullet and get them!

When I opened the package they were the first ones I pulled out and I knew straight away they were the ones for me! I’ve never had backless style or been one for tassels, but these shoes screamed my name!

They fit so well, I got a size 5 and they feel really comfy. I actually cannot get over how cute they are!

I absolutely love the look of them paired with the £10 Primark dress, I am attending a wedding reception in a couple of weeks time and this is going to be my outfit for sure!

The three tans I’m loving this summer

Beauty

This summer I have really been enjoying faking my tan, I have been sent so many fake tans I figured I would test them all out over the summer and I have found my top 3.

Rimmel Sun Shimmer Mousse

I really like this self tanner because it is really easy and really quick to use, much like the other 3. To apply this one you do need a tanning mit, it’s so easy to apply all over your body and you can see an instant change in colour. I wore this one whilst I was still at work and I got so many compliments about it, about how natural it looked!

Isle of Paradise Self Tanning Drops

The Isle of Paradise drops are super handy for tanning your face, just apply a few drops to your night moisturiser and you’ll wake up to a tanned face. It doesn’t look orange and it doesn’t look fake, it gives you a really natural glow and when I use them I feel like I can get away with no foundation that day. I don’t find that the colour last that long, probably because I exfoliate everyday. You can also mix these into your body moisturisers also.

Norvell Ultra Vivid Gradual Tan

I think out of all the tans I prefer this one, I love that you don’t need to wear a tanning kit to apply it, I love that you can see the colour and you instantly looked tanned and I love that it’s such a big bottle! The colour which develops is also super natural and doesn’t look orange, it looks much more like a natural sun tan, brown rather than umpa lumpa. This one looks a little scary at first when you apply it as it look really dark, but that blends out. Also, I feel like this is the only tan out of the three that does not smell! Even though the others say they don’t smell like self tan, they do!

What are you favourite tans? Xx
