October favourites

Beauty

My first proper blogpost in months, so I’m back with some of my current favourites.

First up, I have been loving the Freshly Cosmetics Red Velvet Oil Serum, this is a serum which you put on over your moisturiser just before you go to bed. It helps clear up your skin, get rid of blackheads and hydrate you over night. As you can see I only have enough left for one night as I have really been living for this stuff! You can check it out here. *

For my primer I have been using the Erborian Matte Cream, this is such a great primer which I am also nearly out off. It creates a flawless base for your foundation by blurring your pores. *

Another skincare product which I use nightly is the Pixi Beauty Rose Glow mist, this is an oil spray which I spritz on my face as I’m about to get into bed. Not only does it give an extra boost of hydration, it smells great. *

Another thing I have been doing before going to sleep is applying the Forchic lash serum which has actually helped my lashes grow. When wearing mascara I notice the growth a lot more, it also makes applying mascara so much easier as I don’t have to build the length up as much. *

On my lips my favourite lip product is one of the latest Pixi Beauty launches in the shade Coral Bang. Its such a nice transitional shade as its not a dark red. The formulation is also really good too as it lasts a while and its easy to wipe off. *

The mascara which has been my go to for a couple of months now is from Primark, I saw online that it was a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex, and I can confirm it is. For only £3, the packaging is gorgeous, it applies great and lasts.

And lastly, the fixing powder from MUA Cosmetics which is the only powder I own, it leaves your skin look matte but your can still see a bit of a glow coming through, it lasts all day and doesn’t look cakey.

Spring Morning Skincare Routine

Beauty

My morning skincare routine is a bit hit and miss, I am the least morning-ist person, so washing my face in the morning before work is a big no! I only wash my face in the mornings at the weekends and if I’m on half term. My morning skincare is a lot more basic than my evening one.

To cleanse I use the Freshly Cosmetics Rose Quartz Facial Cleanser* as I find it really gentle on my skin and refreshing.

To tone I spritz the Dermalogica multi active toner*, followed by The Ordinary Hyaluronic Acid. And the final step is the Skin Smoothing Cream* from Dermalogica.

Spring Evening Skincare Routine

Beauty

To start my skincare routine off every evening, I use Dermalogica Pre Cleanse*, this is an oil which you massage into dry skin and it removes pretty much all your make up, including waterproof mascara! I then use the Special Cleansing Gel* to cleanse my face, this contains lots of great skin ingredients and I find this especially good helping with my spots. The third step to cleansing is using the Daily Microfoliant*, this contains little rice granules and gently exfoliates your skin, removing all the bad stuff.

Masking is the next step, I have a separate blogpost going up of my favourite masks, but for todays post I have picked two from Pixi Beauty which I like to use a duo. I apply the Peel & Polish* first and massage that in before I rinse it off, then I apply the Glow Mud Mask* which helps with blemishes.

I use the Pixi Glow Tonic* toner every night with out fail, this is so good as another exfoliation step, and making my skin feel super fresh and glowy.

On the nights when I’m feeling extra bougie I like to use the Pixi DetoxifEYE* eye patches along with the Glycolic Boost* sheet mask.

To add in extra hydration and help with acne scaring I use two pumps of Aloe Vera Gel*, I find this really refreshing and cooling on my skin especially in the summer. Under my eyes I apply the Freshly Cosmetics Eye Serum* followed by the Freshly Cosmetics Golden Radiance Oil*.

And finally, I apply Pixi Beauty Rose Ceramide Cream* just before I go to sleep to lock in all the moisture.

What’s in my travel skincare bag

Beauty

Over the Easter Holiday I am taking a quick trip to Genoa in Italy, I will only be taking carry on baggage so I have narrowed down my skincare into this lovely travel toiletry bag from Pixi*.

In the top section I have included 3 masks, 2 sheet masks and one liquid mask. I chose to pack the Pixi Glow Mud Mask* as I figured this one will be the most helpful incase I get breakouts whilst away. I then have packed two sheets masks, one from Pixi* and one from Soap and Glory. These will be really helpful to my skin both nights I am away as they will provide my skin with extra hydration, especially after flying.

As for the rest of my skincare I have been really fortunate and been sent loads of Dermalogica minis which are the perfect size for traveling. I use Dermalogica on a daily basis, so it’s really nice to be able to take them on holiday with me as well to keep to a routine. I have packed the Pre Cleanse, Special Ceansing Gel and Microfoliant* as these are my night time staples. I have then been able to decant some of my larger Pixi Glow Tonix* into a smaller bottle so I can still use my regular toner. And then for the creams and serums, I have just picked out a selection from Dermalogica* which I will try out over there.

Pixi Skin treats {gifted}

Beauty

Last week I received this wonderful parcel from Pixi Beauty, again! I still cannot believe I have made it onto their PR list and now receive amazing this like this so often!

Skin care is my absolute favourite thing to try out, especially masks, so the fact that this came with loads of different masks to try out is brilliant.

I have never tried any of the Pixi masks before, but it’s safe to say that on the day I received them, I did some multi masking and tested out a few.

I use their Glow Tonic every night, so I was really happy to see that they do matching sheet masks! And, also really love that I now have 30 pairs of eye masks!

The Peel & Polish will be a new staple in my skincare routine as I can see this helping my skin out, by sorting out the texture along with the Glow Mud Mask.

I cannot wait to test all of these out and start including them in my skincare routine!

Thank you so much Pixi for sending me all of this to try out!

Pixi LOVE

Beauty

You know that moment when you see everyone on Instagram receiving amazing PR packages and you just keep wishing and hoping that one day that might turn up on your doorstep… well it did! I was absolutely blown away by the generosity of Pixi Beauty, and it totally made my weekend receiving all this in one day.

Skincare is my ride or die, I live for it, and when it’s as pretty as this it’s hard not too! I received the WHOLE of the Pixi Beauty Rose range. I had only ever tried the rose toner previous to this so I was
utterly taken back when I saw that I now owned ALL of this. Not only all of the products, but
the beautiful travel bag it all came in! I am 100% taking this away with me on every holiday
from now as it I love it.
This bag contains everything, from make up wipes, toners, spritz, moisturisers and balms, it is just full of so many gems!
On the same day I also received a box of their new eye shadow palettes and three brushes! The shades are perfect and so pigmented. My favourite palette is the bottom one, containing the warmer shades. i love wearing the middle third row and the left third row down on their own, just for a pop of colour.

Thank you so much Pixi! ❤

The ultimate glow from Pixi Beauty

Beauty

On Christmas Eve this amazing surprise arrived from Pixi Beauty, I had no idea it was on its way and I had no idea that I was even worthy of receiving it! But this package in itself is a great way to finish the year off!

The Pixi Glow Tonic has been my go to toner for a couple of years now, I have experimented with other glycolic timers but I always come back to this one. It’s very gentle on your skin but you can definitely noticed the difference when you use it. I find it very good to use when I am having a bad breakout as exfoliates the skin and dries up my spots.

This is a massive 200ml of the toner, which is also personalised! I have never had a skincare or make or product with my name of it before so this is pretty out of this world. I am beyond grateful for this huge bottle of glorious glow and cannot wait to use it throughout 2019.

I want to say a huge thank you to Pixi Beauty for sending me this xx

Evening Skincare Routine

Beauty

Welcome back, so today I am sharing my evening skincare routine which is a little bit more intense than my morning one.

I’ve actually missed out the first step which was removing my make up, to do this I tend to just use a wipe and then I go in and double cleanse with one of the above cleaners. I have been loving Garnier so much recently and seem to have stocked up with all their products! I am really loving the Oil Balancing face wash from Superdrug aswell!

Face mask time! Twice a week, normally on Saturday night and Wednesday night I like to do a face mask. These three are my go to at the minute.

Next up is toner, I have a bit of an obsession with toners and I should probally research into how many is too many to use in one go. Each night I alternate between them. I alternate between the Nuetrogena Black Head Eliminating and The Body Shop Tea Tree as I find they are both great for helping with spots and keeping my skin clean.

I then rotate daily between Pixi Glow Tonic and The Ordinary Glycolic Acid, as the The Ordinary Toner is stronger than Pixi I like to switch out so it’s not to harsh on my skin. These are great for gently exfoliating your skin and string a glow.

I then pick one of the above to finish up toning, these are much more kinda and less harsh and soothing on my skin. If I am having a dry skin day then the Glycerin and Rose Water Toner is great for adding that extra bit of hydration. What is great about the Garnier Toners is that they contain a tiny amount of Salicylic Acid so that helps combat spots!

Every night I use The Ordinary Argireline Solution on my eye area and forehead to reduce lines and really hydrate those areas. On a Saturday and Wednesday (the same as a face mask) I use The Ordinary Alpha Lipoic Acid which brightens and targets the signs of ageing. I really love the way this makes my skin feel, it really does feel like it is working!

I then finish up with an oil to add extra hydration, this one from Intense Formulas was kindly sent to me and contains about 14 different types of oils to help and maintain your skin!

And lastly before I go to bed I apply a normal moisturiser or a moisture mask. The one above is a vitamin e mask from Superdrug, it is totally worth checking out as it really makes my skin soft and hydrated and make up sits lovely on top of it the next day!

What are your go to skin care products?
