October favourites

My first proper blogpost in months, so I’m back with some of my current favourites.

First up, I have been loving the Freshly Cosmetics Red Velvet Oil Serum, this is a serum which you put on over your moisturiser just before you go to bed. It helps clear up your skin, get rid of blackheads and hydrate you over night. As you can see I only have enough left for one night as I have really been living for this stuff! You can check it out here. *

For my primer I have been using the Erborian Matte Cream, this is such a great primer which I am also nearly out off. It creates a flawless base for your foundation by blurring your pores. *

Another skincare product which I use nightly is the Pixi Beauty Rose Glow mist, this is an oil spray which I spritz on my face as I’m about to get into bed. Not only does it give an extra boost of hydration, it smells great. *

Another thing I have been doing before going to sleep is applying the Forchic lash serum which has actually helped my lashes grow. When wearing mascara I notice the growth a lot more, it also makes applying mascara so much easier as I don’t have to build the length up as much. *

On my lips my favourite lip product is one of the latest Pixi Beauty launches in the shade Coral Bang. Its such a nice transitional shade as its not a dark red. The formulation is also really good too as it lasts a while and its easy to wipe off. *

The mascara which has been my go to for a couple of months now is from Primark, I saw online that it was a dupe for Too Faced Better Than Sex, and I can confirm it is. For only £3, the packaging is gorgeous, it applies great and lasts.

And lastly, the fixing powder from MUA Cosmetics which is the only powder I own, it leaves your skin look matte but your can still see a bit of a glow coming through, it lasts all day and doesn’t look cakey.

Autumnal eye shadow picks

Today is all the perfect autumnal eye shadows, a couple of these were new purchases this autumn but the majority are old ones. So here are my go to shades/palettes for the autumn months.

First up I have chosen four individual eye shadows, the two smaller ones are from Colourpop. These are in the shades LALA and Game Face, these two of my favourite all time shadows and tend to be my go to for traveling as their really small and easy to pack.

The next two are from MUA Cosmetics in the shades Copper and Bronze, these are the cheapest eye shadows I own but they are still really good quality so you can even tell!

The MUA Cosmetics Rusted Wonders palette is the perfect shimmer palette for autumn. The red has been my most worn shade so far, but these are all so pigmented and really easy to blend! Considering this was £3.50 I don’t think you can go wrong with it!

The beautiful MAC Burgundy X 9 palette which is a couple of years old now, I havnt really got much wear out of this as it is very seasonal. That being said I will put it in my make up bag so I can remind myself to use it more!

The top two are the Colourpop shadows (top Game Face bottom LALA). These two are my most worn pretty much all year but they are perfect for autumn, they are really long wearing I find it’s best to apply them with my finger so I get the most out the colour.

The bottom two are by MUA Cosmetics (top bronze bottom copper). Out of these two I think I will be wearing Copper the most as it is as really rich warm coppery shade and incredibly pigmented considering how cheap these were!

The top four are from the MAC palette and the bottom four are from the MUA Cosmetics palette. Considering the huge difference in price I would say the quality of the shadows is near enough the same, although I think I will get more wear out of the MUA palette as they are perfect lid shades!

Autumn Lip Picks

Welcome back, today’s post is all about my autumn lip picks! I have gone throw my collection and picked out the lipsticks which I think scream fall!

I have picked out a real variety from the typical dark berries to the dark nudes.

The three lipsticks across the top are pretty much my staples for autumn time. On the left is Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, this is a less typical fall shade, but is very ideal for wearing to work as it’s still a dark nudey brown. In the middle is the prettiest shade, Charlotte by Nars! I need to wear this a lot more this year as it’s such a gorgeous dark plumy red shade perfect for adding a pop of autumn to your make up. And on the right is another work autumnal shade, Pink Cocoa from Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

I have picked out two Colour Pop shades, on the left is Saturday and in the middle is Avenue. I really love the shades of these, but I don’t get along very well when wearing them, they flake off half my lips and look awful! Please let me know if there is a way to make these stay put, because I have so many and can’t use them! I then have two Mac lipsticks in the shades Whirl and Amourous. Whirl is definitely the more typical brown woodland shade where as Amourous has a hint of purple and berry shades. I have then also picked out a Mac liquid lipstick in the shade High Drama, this screams autumn and is the perfect dark lip! I also really love he formula of the Mac liquid lipsticks as they last for so long!

I have also picked out a Revlon Liquid Lip Colour in the shade Addiction, this is really creamy and longlasting. And finally I have two soft matte lip creams from NYX, these are in the shades Transylvania and Copenhagen. To be honest I won’t be getting much wear out of these as they are really old and dried up but I can’t bring myself to get rid of them!

After wiring this post I’ve realised how many autumnal lipsticks I need to start wearing! I’m sure I will pack quite a few of them to take away with me on my next holiday!

Everyday Make Up with Only 10 Items

As I’m now back in the swing of work properly after being on holiday for six weeks, I’ve been really struggling with getting up in the morning. Although I really don’t mind doing my makeup, basically know that I look better with it rather than without it, so not doing my make up is not an option. In order to have an extra 10 minutes in bed, I have picked out only 10 items of make up (one is a palette) in order to reduce the amount of time messing around and finding products and wasting time by not knowing what I want to use. So here are my 10 item everyday make up picks…

1. Prime Before I even look in the mirror which is inside my make up bag, I apply The Ordinary High-Adherance Silicone Primer which makes my skin feel super soft and makes it look better than what it is.

2.Mascara While my primer sinks in I apply my mascara, my go to at the minute along with half of he blogging community is Loreal Paradise Exactic. This makes my lashes look long and full of volume which is what everyone wants obviously!

3.Foundation Now my primer is set and lashes are looking on ‘fleek’ it’s time to get some even skin, my go to foundation at the minute is Mac Studio Fix. It is a little dark, but I’m trying to use it up so I can buy a lighter shade. This creates a pretty flawless matte base and already I’m looking so much better.

4. Under Eye Concealer I have finally found my perfect under eye concealer in the form of Bourjois Radiance Reveal. This is really righting, hydrating and doesn’t go cakey!

5. Cream Contour I have recently (in the past 6 months) become obsessed with cream contour, I use it as a base for my powder bronzer. I find it lasts much longer and looks more natural. I have been loving the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Contour Stick in the shade dark to contour my cheeks and then I apply it on my forehead to add some shadow.

6. I then set under my eyes with Rimmel Stay Matte Powder, and then I set the rest of my face.

7. Next is my little cheat product, in order to make this a 10 piece make up look I chose to use a palette which contains bronzer, blush and high light. The chosen one for today is the Rosy Flush palette by Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

8. For my brows I have been using a pomade by MUA Cosmetics, I really like the look this particular pomade creates and it’s really easy to use and not go to over the top.

9. To finish my brows I set them using a brow mascara from Loreal.

10. And finally I complete my look with a nude lipstick, the shade I’ve chosen for today is Pink Cocoa by Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

Let me know what your 10 staple products are.

Five Drugstore Finds

Today I thought I would share with you five drugstore make up products which have upped my make up game recently.

Natural Collection Loose Translucent Powder

MUA Costmetics Radiant Lumination

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Bear Hug

Nip + Fab Travel Palette

Rimmel Lasting Finish Concealer

So let’s start with the oldest product in my little collection above, the Natural Collection Loose Powder is from Boots and is only a mere £1.99! I use this to bake/set my under eye area and my forehead. I use this religiously everyday and I am I now on my 3rd pot within a year so it definitely lasts a long time.

I initially found out about the Rimmel Concealer when watching a video by Zoella, I had never really been attracted to a Concealer in a pot as I though it would be really dry and look cakey on my face. This however is the dream Concealer, it’s so creamy and doesn’t dry your face at all! It also has great coverage!

The beautiful gold packaged lipstick from Tanya Burr Cosmetics is in the shade Bear Hug. This is a creamy nude perfect for everyday wear! This retails for £6.99.

The travel palette from Nip + Fab could end up being a staple product for anyone who is always on the go. It contains a bronzer, blush and highligh. I believe this was about £10, though I bought it when it was on offer for 3 for 2. This will definetely be coming on holiday with me!

This little palette from MUA was only £4 on offer from Superdrug, I thinks even at full price it’s only £6 which is a bargain for what you get. It was a lot smaller than what I expected but I guess you rarely end up hitting pan on highlighters. It contains four highlighter and two bronzers. They are all really pigmented, although I would say a negative side of the palette is that there is A LOT of fallout from the highlighters.

Most Worn Eye Palettes

Eye shadow (and lipstick) are my weeknesses! As soon as a new palette drops, I want it. A lot of the time I do manage to restrain myself but sometimes you just have to treat yourself. Out of my huge palette collection these 5 palettes are my most reached for…

Iheartmakeupldn Chocolate Vice Palette

I think there are some great drugstore alternatives out there for highend palettes which really go above and beyond the expectations. Iheartmakeup have brought out so many chocolate bar palettes to be dupes for the Too Faced ones it seems silly to spend £30 on one palette rather than £8.

I really love the variety of shades in the Vice Palette and the pigmentation is great. This palette can be used for a light day make up of an intense night look. There is a great variety of shimmer and Matte which makes life so much easier when you only want to use one palette. The shades all really compliment each other and are really easy to apply with little fall out.

MUA Burning Embers Palette

This is the palette of my dreams at the minute, I saw this on instagrama and instantly had to check the Superdrug site for it as I knew it would be highly popular. I was really surprised as I managed to get it pretty much straight away (although I think it is out of stock now). This really reminds me of the Morphe palette which everyone wants but is always sold out. It is super affordable at only £8! The shimmery shades are my favourites as their so pigmented and you can build them up really easily.

Too Faced Semi Sweet Chocolate Bar Palette

I chose this palette for one of my Christmas presents, when I was choosing it I found it really hard to decide between all the options but I ended up opting for this one. I’m really glad I chose the Semi Sweet because it has a really nice mix of colours (some I still havnt used). I tend to stick to a brown, gold, copper eye on a daily basis. Plus, this whole palette smells like chocolate so what more do you want!

Tanya Burr Birthday Suit Palette

I picked this palette up last year along with some other TB products and this is definelty reached for a lot. Because it only has 4 shades it makes it so much easier to decide on a look. The shades all compliment each other and it’s great for building up looks in the evening or a subtle look during the day.

Urban Decay Naked 3 Palette

Naked 3 was the first highend palette I bought, it has such pretty soft shades perfect for spring and more evening looks. I love the variety of colours and it makes a change from only wearing browns. I do find that this palette does have a lot of fall out when applying the shadow.

Spring Make Up For Work

Hello, today I thought I would share some of my favourite drugstore products and use them all in one look for a day at work.

I have been obsessed with the Rimmel Lasting Finish Primer the past few weeks, I find it gives my skin a really healthy glow and creates a smooth base for my foundation to sit on.

For foundation I have been trying out Loreal Infalliable Total Cover which I think everyone has tried by now. To be honest I don’t really see a difference between the normal one, but I have it so I use it. I have been applying my foundation with a brush, so I try and use the smallest bit of foundation squeezed onto my hand so I get a really natural look. Now it’s summer I want fresher looking make up with more of a glow.

The concealer I have been loving is by Bourjois and it is the Radience Reveal Concealer. This is a really creamy formula and gives great coverage without going cakes or drying.

The next item I have been raving about so much over on my Instagram (@toriiitoriii), the Seventeen Instant Glow cream bronzer. I bought this last year and hadn’t really used it until this past month. I love using this to bronze my forehead and give a little bit of definition on my cheeks before I actually use powder bronzer.

To bake my under eye concealer I use the MUA Skin Define Powder, this sets under my eyes and stops any creasing during the day. It is a translucent powder so it doenst add any colour. Then to set the rest of my face I use my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte powder which is also translucent. This really does set your face for the whole day and stops any oil/shine.

I next picked out an old palette from Sleek, this is the Face Form Contouring & Blush palette in light 373.  I used the bronzer as this gives a really pretty light bronze to the cheeks and is easy to build up. I then also used the blush as this is a dupe for Nars Orgasm. For highlighter I used a new palette from MUA LUXE Radiant Illumination Highlighting kit 2. I used the bottom left pink pearl colour as this created a really nice shimmery shade which gave a lovely summery glow.

For my eyeshadow I used the most gorgeous palette from MUA,  it is the Burning Embers palette. I chose pretty light neutral colours as I didn’t want anything bold. I build up the crease by using the soft brown and then the dark brown followed by he shimmer champagne colour on the lid.

Lashes, Brows & Lips

On my eye brows I used the MUA LUXE brow pomade to create definition and create a bolder brow. To set my brows I used Loreal Brow Plumper

For my mascara I used Loreal False Lash Superstar which creates loads of length and volume.

And to finish up on my lips I used Tanya Burr Pink Cocoa  which is a really pretty pinky nude shade.

New Makeup Haul!

Today I am sharing with you a really small but really amazing make up haul. At the moment I have kind of bought everything I want so finding new make up to buy is hard (but good for my bank account). I had however seen these few bits so I picked them up from Superdrug last week and I am in love with every single thing! I will hopefully get around to swatching the palettes, but for now their too pretty to touch a mess up!

First off all, how amazingly pretty is this palette? If this is not the next big sell out then I don’t know, I had been eyeing it up for ages and was going to buy it when I next got paid, but I caved and bought it early with the fears it would sell out.

This is the Burning Embers palette from MUA and was only £8. For a drugstore palette that is really cheap when you see the colours and the quality of it. Ofcourse I cannot bring myself to swatch it (head over to my Instagram @toriiitoriii for a glimpse of it in use). There is a perfect amount of matte and shimmery shade which make it a really easy palette to use. There is also a huge variety of shades, perfect for every skin tone and every occasion. I really look forward to trying this out!

This next palette really reminds me of the MAC ones but a fraction of the price at £3. This has 6 matte shades (once again I havnt swatched them). There are a few different varieties of this palette, but a lot of them are already sold out on Superdrug so I ended up picking this one. I do think once again it’s a really easy to wear palette and the shades remind me of the Naked Basics Palette.

This little stunner (little being the key word) is also from MUA and was £6 reduced to £4. When I had seen all the photos of this palette online I thought it would be quite large, the size of a normal contour kit like a ABH one. But no, to my surprise it was tiny! But it is cute, and the shades do seem very pretty! This is in the second shade. There are 4 highlighters which are super pigmented and really pretty to wear along with two bronzer/contour shades which are also very pigmented. I am really glad I only paid £4 for this as it is so small!

And lastly, a Barry M Lip Kit in the Shade Pose. If your anything like me then you have seen this plastered all over Instagram and you have been lusting for own to try out. When I was in Manchester a few weeks ago I went into Superdrug and they were all sold out, however they do have a few shades online still. This is a really lovely pinky peach shade. I have applied it once to my lips and I found the brush rather hard and it tickled my lips which I don’t normally find happens when applying a liquid lip. That being said I loved the consistency and it seems like it would last a few hours.

MUA LUXE Eyeshadow // New Makeup Monday

MUA LUXE Metallic Eye Shadow Palette in Mysterial.

This palette comes with 3 metallic eye shadows an some primer. When you touch the eye shadows their not like normal shadows. They are more creamy and soft and move around in the pan but don’t break. It’s just such a cool concept and unless you try it yourself you probably won’t understand. I believe I paid £4 for this palette which is totally worth the money as its a pound a shadow. I really like the fact it comes with a primer, and it seems really good quality. It is really thick and creamy and gives a good base for the shadows.

As you can see the colours are beautiful, especially the gold and purple as they are really iridescent and mermaid like which is always a plus. I’m or to much of a fan of the darker shade but I’m sure it will grow on me.
