Everyday makeup routine

I feel like I am pretty set in my ways when it comes to my everyday makeup routine, I tend to use the same set of products and do it all in a certain order and never really switch it up. So here is is my daily make up for work, it generally takes me about 20-25 minutes to slowly apply it all and be ready.

The first thing I do is prime my face, I have been using the Makeup Revolution Pore Blur recently, this has a very silicone feel to it and it makes my skin feel really smooth and soft afterwards.

Once my base is done, I then go and apply my mascara, I have to do this before I do any more of my face make up because I make such a mess no matter what. I have been using the Natural Collection waterproof mascara as I picked it up on a whim, decided to try it out, and low and behold it’s actually really good.

After I have cleaned up all the mascara which is on my face, I apply my foundation. I have just ran out of my favourite one, so I am going to give the Revlon Colourstay* a go for a while and see how I get on with it. To conceal under my eyes I have been using the Thin Lizzy concealer* as this is pretty full coverage.

To set my make up in place I use the MUA Cosmetics loose translucent powder. I then bronze my face using a bronzer from MUA Cosmetics which was only £1, such a bargain. Followed by the Zoella x Colourpop blush which is super pretty.

To add some highlight to my face I have been using a highlighter stick from Natural Collection which is very similar to Glossier Haloscope Quartz, so I am super happy to have found a dupe for it!

Finally for my brows I use the HD brow pencil from Sainsburys to define my brows and Loreal Brow Plumper to set them in place.

What’s in my travel makeup bag | ft The Flat Lay Co {gifted}

Todays post is all about the make up I am taking with me to Genoa, featuring the beautiful Flat Lay Co makeup bag*. This was sent to me a little while ago and I have been waiting patiently to be able to use it, and I figured this short trip would be perfect. I was a bit sceptical about whether all my make up would fit, but it actually did. This is my second Flat Lay Co bag, they are so handy when it comes to travelling as it’s so easy to lay all your make up out and not worry about getting it on the white hotel bed sheets.

You can check out their website here or on Asos.

I decided for this trip that I would try and pack light and only take what I am going to use, so I think I have in the main part done so.

I have picked the Dermalogica Primer* as this is my favourite primer that own right now, it is very similar to Benefit Porefessional, but contains SPF making it perfect for holidays.

As for foundation I decided to stick with Mac Studio Fix as I know this lasts a long time and also contains SPF making it ideal for sunny weather. A newer concealer I am taking is from Thin Lizzy*, this was sent to me a while back and I was obsessed with thier foudnation, so I’m hoping I will feel the same about the concealer. This concealer is also good for under the eyes and on areas which need more coverage.

The cream bronzer I am packing is from Primark, it was only £2.50 and I needed a new one as I had run out of my favourite one. Although this one is a little bit too dark for me on a daily basis, I’m hoping that once I’ve tanned it will match my body pretty well.

To set my face I will be using the MUA Cosmetics loose powder in translucent, I use this on a daily basis and keeps my face looking pretty matte all day long. To bronze I will be using Hoola Bronzer from Benefit as this is my go to holiday bronzer as it’s on the more intense darker side.

To add some colour to my cheeks I have packed the Zoella x Colourpop brush as this is a really pretty pink shade. And then to finish off my face make up I have chosen Glossier Haloscope in Quartz as my highlighter as this gives a lovely dewy finish.

For mascara I have chosen to take the Natural Collection waterproof mascara, I chose to go with a waterproof one just so it will last longer in the heat and not sweat off. For my eye shadow I have opted for the Urban Decay Aphrodisiac palette and a Zoella x Colourpop liquid shadow in OG.

To define my brows I have packed my new eye brow hd pencil from Sainsbury’s which I am pretty obsessed with, and Loreal Brow Plumper to set them in place.

Finally, for my lips I have packed YSL 201, MAC Viva Glam 2 and MAC Fashion Legacy as I like to go for a very bold bright lip on holiday.

jecca black. sculpt & soften palette

I was very kindly sent the new Sculpt and Soften palette from Jecca. They are a brand who does not just aim makeup at females, instead they aim it for anyone which I think is a really great idea. The palette is also vegan and cruelty free.

The sculpt palette contains a cream highlighter which is the perfect shade for me, it is really creamy and light weight and will be perfect for my under eye area.

The contour shade is a lovely rich bronze shade, I use cream bronzers like this everyday anyway so this is the perfect addition to my collection.

I really like how compact the palette is as it will be ideal for travelling.

You can pick up your own palette here

My favourite make up products of 2018

This post could be full of loads of make up items, but I have been really strict and just chosen products which have been my ultimate ‘go to products’ of last year, the products which I come into 2019 still reaching for.

First up we have the ultimate red lip, this is YSL 201. This is my all time favourite shade to wear, it works for both summer and winter and gives the ultimate ‘made up’ look.

Next is the best eye shadow palette ever created, Urban Decay Naked Heat! I have not stopped using it, every where I go the palette goes too, it’s been on countless holidays and airplanes. The palette contains my absolute favourite shades, the warm tones work for me all year round and I just could not be more in love with a palette if I tried.

Last year was really the year of investing my skincare, one company who’s products has changed the skincare and make up game for me is Dermalogica. I am one of their Skinfluencers, so I was lucky enough to be sent a lovely package of products back the summer which contained the Skin Perfect primer. This is such an amazing primer, it is SPF 15 and creates a really great base for the best of your make up as well as making it last a long time.

Glossier Haloscope in Quartz is my most use highlighter, this is a cream formula so it instantly creates a gorgeous natural glow.

My absolute favourite cream bronzer from Tanya Burr Cosmetics has just been discontinued and I have just ran out it, I have gone through so many of these as I love it so much, it was the perfect shade for me.

I havn’t really been a big CC Cream fan, that was until I was sent one from Erborian. This one creates a really nice natural looking base for when you don’t want to wear a heavy foundation.

My go to blush of the summer was definitely Benefit Galifornia, I literally love using this just for the smell, I could sit and sniff it all day long!

And lastly, two palettes that are both equally as good as each other are the Urban Decay Naked Flushed palette and the Hour Glass Ambient Lighting Edit palette. These are both really good versatile palettes perfect for all year round.

Long Lasting Glowy Make Up

Today I am sharing my long lasting Make Up routine, I find this make up lasts a long time and doesn’t sweat off.

For my eyes I’ve recently started using the Coastal Scents Revealed 3 palette. For work I tend to stick to pretty neutral goofy shades so it’s less noticeable. I use two shades on the top row, all over my lid I use the 4th shade which is a shimmery champagne colour and then in my crease I use the fifth shade which is shimmery bronze. Although these are shimmery they don’t look that intense on your eyes, I would say they have more of a satin finish.

As I want my make up to be long lasting and waterproof I have gone back to using the Loreal False Lash Architect mascara.

For primer I am using a blurring one from Maybelline, I find this really helps smooth or my skin and create a soft base. As for foundation, I have had this Rimmel Lasting Perfection in my drawer for ages and finally I’ve gone back to using it. I am really loving it at the moment as its quite full coverage and lasts a long time.

Under my eyes I used the Seventeen Skin Wow Concealer, this really reminds me of the YSL one. It’s so brightening and light weight.

To set under my eyes I’ve started using the yellow shade from the Anastasia Beverly Hills palette. And I absolutely love it! It’s so brightening and works so much better at keeping my under eye from creasing. All over my face I use Rimmel Stay Matte.

And then for contouring I use the cool toned brown on the ABH palette. And then to warm up my face and at some colour I use the bronzer from NYC.

Now onto the glowy part. For blusher I have been loving Milani Luminoso, this is such a sheer peach with loads of glow! And then I use the Soap and Glory highlighter on my cheek bones. Both of these combined together looks amazing! They really compliment each other.

And finally for brows, I have recently started liking a more natural Brow so I fill it in less. I use the wax from Benefit Browzings followed by the Brow plumper from Loreal.

And that’s it, my glowy make up routine for work which also happens to be really long lasting!

Hope you enjoyed!

New Forest Makeup // MOTD Wednesday

This is my make up for the day I went to the New Forest the day after Bournemouth, so a lot of the make up is the same as I didn’t want to take loads.

For my eye shadow is used a Mac Paint Pot in the shade Painterly followed by my Mac Burgundy x 9 palette.

I kept the same mascara from Illamasqua as I love it so much! And for brows I used Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow pomade as I feel like I have been neglecting it recently. Followed by my trusty Gimme Brow from Benefit.

Bounemouth Make Up // MOTD Wednesday

As I was going to spend the whole day outside I decided to apply some sunscreen to my face first. I then used my favourite primer at the minute from Maybelline as its blurs your skin. And for my foundation I used a long lasting one, and had to apply a little bit of the colour drops to darken it.

For concelor I tried out Rimmel Wake Me Up under my eyes to brighten and then set it by using the Natural Collection Loose Settinf Powder. I then set the rest of my face using Rimmel Stay Matte powder.

To begin with I used Nars Laguna Bronzer (left) to do a subtle contour, and then I applied some shimmery bronzer from the ELF St Lucia duo. For blush used my typical Sephora blush in So Shy! And for highlight I chose a really inexpensive one from MUA in Pink Shimmer.

For brows I used the new brow pomade from MUA LUXE and set them using Benefit Gimme Brow. For Mascara I used a favourite which is by Illamasqua.

And lastly on my eyes are used Mac painterly paint pot and a few shades from Maybelline the Nudes palette.
