A day in London

Yesterday I surprised my best friend with tickets to see Wicked the musical for her birthday. We got the train into London (after Starbucks off course). I tried the Strawberries & Cream Frappe for the first time, I don’t know if I would have it again but it was really nice and refreshing (I prefer the Java Chip).

When we arrived in London we made a b-line to Covent Garden to get some lunch.

Covent Garden is such a pretty place! Every time I go they’ve added more cute things such as all the flowers. Also not how blue the sky is (because it wasn’t blue for long).

For lunch we chose Maxwells, I had sweet potato fries and a smoothie which were delicious. After a quick snack we got up to leave and noticed that it was chucking it down! I had never seen rain like this in London before (mainly because we also look at the weather before going and try to avoid the rain, but when you have tickets there’s not much you can do). Everyone outside was getting soaked while we seemed refuge inside Maxwells until it stopped. Luckily we only had to wait 5 minutes till it cleared up!

After the rain we hurried over to Victoria, where Wicked is performed at the Appolo Victoria Theatre. This was my 9th time seeing the show (yes I’m obsessed, I havnt been in atleast 2-3 years & I justify it by saying it’s just like watching your favourite movie). If you have seen this show then you will know what I’m on about, if you have not seen the show then you need to!

After the theatre the plan was to have dinner in Hard Rock Cafe but when we arrived the queue was ridiculous so we headed back to Covent Garden to find some food around that area. On the way we walked though St James’s park and saw Buckingham Palace and some more pretty houses. By this point the weather was perfect and you would not have even known it had poured earlier.

Another first for me yesterday was Five Guys, I had heard so much about it and seen it everywhere that I wanted to try it out. At first I didn’t think there would be anything I would eat as I don’t eat beef burgers, but luckily I saw they had grilled cheese on the menu! While I was in America I lived off grilled cheese so I knew I had to get it, it was o good I ended up having two as you can see!

Literally a few steps down the road was Amornio which does the cute flower icecreams.

With our icecreams we walked down towards he Thames and then went on Waterloo bridge where we got amazing views of the city. It looked so pretty and it’s hard to believe that this is London!

We then walked all the way down to Westminster along the Thames. And from here we headed back to St Pancras and home. Just like  that the day was over.

Some selfies from the day

A day in the Blue Lagoon, Iceland

I actually cannot believe I am about to write a blog post about the fact I’ve been to the Blue Lagoon. I have seen hundreds of photos, videos and blog posts all about this and finally I can write one myself so it’s kind of surreal.

I still don’t really understand the concept of the Blue Lagoon apart from that it is geo thermal and that is why it is so hot. Initially you think that it is not going to be that hot, but because of the outside air temperature it is so hot!

So, my best friend and I booked the trip before we left for Iceland, we paid €50 for the spa and another €30 for a transfer to and from the lagoon. If you are going then I would definelty recommend paying for the transfer as it is really well planned and organised. We arrived an hour before our time slot which gave us time to wonder around the outside and take some photos and eat our Subway for lunch.

Once it was time to go in we went and got our wristbands from reception which work as a credit card type thing. You can open and close your locker with them and buy drinks at the bar along with an extra face mask.

So once we had got changed we went down and took an abundance of photos before getting in completely. Before we got in completely we went and applied a mass amount of conditioner which was supplied by the lagoon in the shower area which was perfect because I read that the water makes your hair really difficult to manage once it was wet because of the build up silica.

There are two bar areas, one that sells drinks and one that sells face masks. Within the standard package you get a free silica face mask, I ended up applying this 3 times as I really wanted to give my skin a good cleanse. The mask is in a huge container where you can help yourself to it. If you want to do the algae mask it’s an extra €3 which is fairly cheap!

For drinks I had heard it was expensive, so I was a bit reluctant to get one. But as we had been in the lagoon for a few hours I felt I needed something so I had a slush which was so refreshing.

As I had my phone in a waterproof case we were able to take hundreds of photos and really capture our whole experience before taking my phone back to the locker so we could enjoy it a bit more without worrying about my phone.

With the standard package you have to provide your own towel and flip flops, which when you are only allowed to take handluggage it does become difficult to say the least. I would say one disadvantage is your towel gets wet so easily because you want to wrap yourself up to stay warm whilst you walk back up to the changing area so by the time your ready to get changed it’s soaked and no longer any use.

The shuttle bus back to Reykjavik leaves every hour on quarter past. It takes about 50 minutes to get to and from.

Lazy Sunday

This was all the make up I used to get ready the past Sunday. I just went for a very natural make up look as I was going to be watching films all day.

Face I used Revlon Colour Stay foundation and applied this using a beauty sponge which are amazing! I then used the Tarte Contour stick to contour and highlight. I then set my face using Rimmel Stay Matte Poweder. To add more dimension to my face I used the Soap & Glory Bronzer, The Balm Mary Lou-Manizer highlighter and Nars Orgasm Blush.

Eye Brows I did my every day brow routine using the Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip brow followed by Loreal Brow Plumper to set them.

Eyes I first curled my lashes then applied an eyelash primer from Manna Kadar followed by Thick and Fast mascara by Soap & Glory.

My friend had invited me round to her house to watch some movies but her Internet was down so I suggested we watch Pretty Little Liars. She is only at the beginning of Season 2 and I am up to date so it’s so hard not being able to tell her who A is! Although I accidentally let it slip that Ali was alive.

When I arrived she offered to make me sweet potato fries and they were amazing! We cooked them in a Dutch pot I think which fries them and makes them crispy.
How amazing does this look?! She has a projector in her room which connects to her xBox so everything can be absolutely huge! Most the time I watch PLL on my laptop so it was amazing seeing it this big.

A few episodes in we decided to drive to a petrol station to get some popcorn. After about 4 or 5 episodes I decided it was time to drive home as my phone battery was dying and I still needed to use the maps to get me home.
