What’s in my travel make up bag | 1 night in Geneva

In October half term I am heading to Geneva for 1 night to see the sites and explore, so I thought I would share with you what I’m planning on packing in my make up bag.

For my base I am taking Benefit Porefessional Primer as I know this works amazingly well with the Mac Studio Fix foundation. These two together are really long lasting and still look exactly the same at the end of the day. Concealer wise I am taking the Bourjois Radiance Reveal because this gives great coverage and is also really brightening. Then too add some definition to my face I will be using the Tanya Burr Cosmetics Contour Stick in the shade dark as this gives a really natural contoured look.

To bronze my face I will be using Hoola by Benefit follows by a Nip + Fab blush and the shade Champagne Sorbet from Tanya Burr Cosmetics to highlight.

My absolute go to mascara at the minute is Loreal Paradise Exactic, it’s so quick and easy to use and build up volume and length that it makes it perfect to use when your short on time. For my eye shadow I wanted to create a really autumnal look so I’ve picked out an eye shadow from MUA Cosmetics in the shade Copper, this is a really pigmented copper shade and I will be using this over my lid. In my crease I will using the shade Soft Truffle from Tanya Burr Cosmetics palette Birthday Suit to build up the intensity.

And finally for my brows I have chosen the brow kit from ElF, I have really been loving using powders so this one is perfect. And then to set my brows I will be using Loreal Brow Sculpt.

And ofcourse no makeup bag is complete without lipstick, or many lipsticks! I may only be going away 2 days but I do like to have options! To keep my lips soft and hydrated I’m taking the Tanya Burr Cosmetics lip balm in Blackberry Coulis. As this has a tint aswell it’s really easy to just add on the go and not worry about the application. I then have packed two Mac lipsticks, the first shade is Amourous and the second is Russian Red. And the beautiful deep berry lipstick from Nars is in the shade Charlotte, this is the lipstick I plan on wearing the most! And then when I don’t want a dark or bright lip I have packed Tanya Burr Cosmetics Martha Moo liquid lipstick which is a nudey pink shade and is really long lansting.

6 things to get you in the mood for Christmas…

Today I am sharing with you 6 things to get you in the middle for Christmas! I love Christmas and as soon as it hits December 1st then it’s time for everything festive!

Warm Cosy Pyjamas
Who doesn’t love warm cosy pyjamas, weather these are really cute Christmassy ones or cheap and tacky ones from Primark. My favourite ones to wear this one of year and my plaid ones I got last year from Primark along with my leopard print onesie.

Candles are my jam, I love them and if I am in my room I will always have a couple burning. I also love to burn waxes in my wax burner as I find they give a stronger smell.

Hot Chocolate

I’m pretty sure December is the only month that it’s acceptable to have a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream on a daily basis. It’s just so yummy and warm!

Festive Lips

Ofcourse a festive lip to me means a red lip and they are my favourite type of lip. I have so many red lispticks that I like to rotate them daily so I get a chance to use them all.

Festive Nails

Nothing says Christmas like red, glittery nails! I like to rock a glittery nail for the whole of December and even November! I love pairing red and silver glitter together. Although you could go for a more subtle Christmas nails and use a nude shade with a glitter on top which looks equally as festive!

Festive Body Wash

Christmas can be everywhere, even in your shower. In December I love using Snow Fairy from Lush as it smells amazing and so Christmasy. This is actually still my bottle from last year as I never got around to finishing it up. I bet you can even buy a Christmas body lotion aswell!

Let me know what gets you in the mood for Christmas!

New Job Make Up // MOTD Wednesday

A few weeks ago I went on a little adventure to get some work at a new place, this wasn’t exactly a completely new place I had worked there for a brief amount of time a few years. And as I knew the manager it wasn’t even an interview, I only went over to pick up some paper work I order to start planning for my new job. I will only be at the new job once a week as I am still working at my old place the other days. As it is summer and I don’t tend to wear make up on an everyday basis I decided I would go a little heavier for my make up this day. However I did forget to take photos on my eye make up as I was way to busy planning the whole evening.

The primer I chose to use was the blurring one from Maybelline Baby Skin, I absolutely love this and it’s gradually running out which makes me sad! I then used my favourite foundation at the minute which is Loreal Nude Magique as its so light weight and gives a really natural look. And at the minute it’s the exact match for my tan. I then use Maybelline Dream Lumi under eye concelor to brighten my under eye area.

To set under my eyes I use the baking technique using the Natural Collection Transulcent Loose Powder applied with a Real Technique Sponge pressing it into the skin. I then set the rest of my face using Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.

I still kept my cheeks very simple and just built up a sun kissed glow using Nars Laguna Bronzer. I then used a Kiko blush and Mary LouManizer highlighter.

For my eye brows I combed then through and applied Dip Brow by Anastasia Beverly Hills and the set them with Benefit Gimme Brow.

For my eyes I went for a pinky look to match my outfit. I primed my life using Mac Painterly Paint Pot. I then used a few shades from Maybelline The Blushed Nudes to build up a pretty eye look.

And finally for mascara I used this pretty one by Boots No7.

And for lips I chose Candy K by Kylie Jenner to give a long lasting matte shade.

ELF Fiji Matte Bronzer // Friday’s Favourite

Today’s favourite is a bronzer blush duo by ELF. This duo was only £4! Super cheap yet super amazing quality. As you can see it looks really similar to Nars packaging which makes it look really high end.

While I was on holiday I decided to not contour my cheeks as I wanted a more natural sunkissed look so all I used was this bronzer. It’s a lovely warm matte bronzer which creates a natural sunkissed look. I also really loved using it as eye shadow most nights to create a natural smokey eye with a little shimmer on the inner corner.

I used this bronzer so much and I still have not even made a dent in the pan which is great as I hope this is going to last a long time!

Wedding Reception Make Up // MOTD Wednesday’s

This was my make up for a wedding reception I went to with my friends from work. We had a wonderful night and enjoyed taking loads of photos!

To prime my eyes I used Mac Paintery Pain Pot which was such a good investment last year as it feels like it is going to last forever! I then used Matt Singh as a base colour on my lids from Meet Matte(e) Nude by The Balm. I recently have been loving this palette as I becoming more competent doing my eye shadow and experimenting with other shades.

For the rest of my eye shadow I used the Carly Bybel Palette by BH Cosmetics which I bought earlier this year. I have marked a cross in the three shadows I used on the outer corner to gradually build up darkness and depth. I used the bottom one first and then worked my way up. I then used the second shadow from the top of the middle row on my lid to add some shimmer.

The mascara I chose for this look was Too Faced Better Than Sex which I love, I need to put another one of these on my Christmas list this year as its done me good!

For my face I started of using the Maybelline Baby Skin Primer for blurring. I absolutly love this as it makes my skin look flawless! I then have also been loving the Loreal Nude Magique as it gives such a natural look as its really light weight. I apply this using my damp Real Techinque sponge which I can’t live without! I then use the Loreal Lumi Touch concelor under my eyes as this gives some extra coverage and brightens my under eye area. Once again I applied this using my sponge.

The next step I have only been doing for 2 weeks now but I am loving it! I have been Natural Collection translucent powder to set under eyes. I have been using a baking technique and applying layers of the powder using my sponge and letting it set. So far it works so much better than using just a normal powder. After a few minute I then brush of the excess powder and set the rest of my face using Rimmel Stay Matte.

Recently I havnt been into contour as I just like to use some bronzer to add a bit of colour. My favorite shade has been this duo from ELF in Fiji. I apply this to my cheeks and forehead to add a little definition but mainly some colour.

I then like to apply some Nars Laguna Bronzer on top as this is a little warmer and has a hint of shimmer in it.

And to finish my face I have been using my favourite Mary Lou Manizer highlighter by the Balm which gives a golden glow to my cheek bones.

And finally my eye brows, I have been trying out a new brow pomade from the MUA LUXE range and it is wonderful! I then set my brows using a mini Benefit Gimme Brow.

On my lips I used Mac Charlotte Olympia in Starlett Scarlet which is a matte red.

Some Photos from the evening:

June Favourites

July is just around the corner, even though it may feel like October! We havnt seen a whole day of sun in weeks! What is going on here! The next month I will just be dreaming about going on holiday and being on a hot sunny island…

This month I have quite a lot of favourites which is really good as I have been trying out products which have been sat in my drawers collecting dust.

Benefit Browzings With all the hype about all the new products Benefit have just launched I decided I would dig out my old Browzings which I bought 3 years ago when I was in LA. And after using for the past week I realised how good it was! I have been using brow mascaras for a while now and not so much a wax. So I am definelty thinking of purchasing a newly packaged Browzings this month!

Kiko 389 Nail Polish This nail colour has most probably been in my favorities for the past few months. I just love this colour for summer, I love how bright and vibrant it is!

Elf Contour Kit in Fiji This is a little gem from ELF and is definelty my go to when I need a really natural look as it doesn’t have any shimmer. I love the colours of both the blush and contour shade. And for £4 it really is worth it!

Maybelline Brow Drama Another brow product I have been loving for the beginning of June was this brow pomade pencil. It is so easy to use and glides on and gives a really natural finish.

Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse This is another old product of mine which was sat in my drawer. I pulled it out the other night ready to do my make up in the morning for a change. This applied so nicely and flawlessly! I will be going out to by another one of these as it was really nice on my skin.

Rimmel Stay Matte Primer Yet another product collecting dust, I have never been a huge primer person but this has changed my mind completely. When I applied this is made my skin so smooth and it looked airbrushed! I would consider wearing this alone in the summer for a more natural make up look. But even after I had applied my makeup, gone to work and came home, my face was still matte!

Estee Laudee Bronze Godess This is my go to scent for the summer as it just reminds me of being on holiday!

Victoria’s Secret Desire Body Lotion When I was cleaning my room last weekend I found this on my wardrobe as I was going to give it a a present. But I decided I would smell it, because it was yellow it had never appealed to be before. But I was curious! And it smelt amazing, just like summer as it was coconut scented!

Rapid Lash For the past few weeks I have been using Rapid Lash to help my eye lashes grow, I always struggled with mascara and only stuck with using one that I knew worked for me. But now after using Rapid Lash my lashes look great, they look so much longer when I wear mascara and have so much more volume!

Katy Perry Meow Perfume I have quite a big perfume collection and I am now starting to use a lot of them up. So this month I have been using Meow by Katy Perry for work everyday.

BH Cosmetics Last month I was lucky enough to get my hands on these two palettes from BH Cosmetics! I picked up he Shaaanxo palette and the Carli Bybel palette. They are both amazing palettes  and I use them every time I go out!

How much does my face cost? drugstore

Last week I wrote a post about how much my face would cost if I used mainly all high end products and that came to over £300 which is ridiculous! So today I am sharing a drugstore version which contains the majority of my favourite products but at a fraction of the price.

Primer Make Up Revolution £6

Foundation Maybelline Dream Satin Foundation £7.99

Setting powder Rimmel Stay Matte £3.99

Contour Collectiom Contour Kit £4.19

Bronzer & Blush ELF Contour Kit in Fiji £4.50

Highlighter MUA £3

Mascara Loreal False Lash Architect £10.99

Brows Maybelline Brow Pomade Crayon £5.99

Lipstick Kiko £6.90

And the total comes too …

Even though this make up look is nearly £300 less expensive that the high end one it is still my go to. I love all the products, especially the blush/bronzer duo from ELF as it reminds me of Nars. All these products are definelty worth checking out!

May Favourites

Eyeshadow My go to eye shadow palette at the minute is actually from Make Up Revolution and is called the Mermaids Forever palette. I have to admit the only reason I wanted this palette was because it was all ocean themed and is totally cute! I love this palette so much, while I was away it was the only palette I used. My go to colours are the gold and brown shimmery ones, but I really want to branch out and try the other shades. It’s such a handy palette to have with you as you can do a neutral eye or a bright eye, so perfect for travelling.

E.L.F is my favourite brand of the month! I recently bought their products and am in love! My favourite contour kit is in Fiji and this so the one on the left, their products are so affordable but such great quality.

I recently discovered this brow mascara from Model Co and I am in love! Because the brush is so tiny it is so precise, and it builds up really natural looking brows!

I recently discovered an old purchase of mine in my make up drawers, this is from MUA. I started wearing this and can’t stop now, it gives such a strong but natural glow and was only £3!

A fashion favourite this month has been these gorgeous sandals from Missguided, unfortunately I bought these last year so I don’t think they sell them anymore. But they are so comfy and cute!

A favourite day of mine in May was when I visited the New Forest wih my Best Friend. We had such a great day!

Spring/Summer Make Up Routine

In the heat of the summer I still like to wear make up to work but I also like to sit in the garden as long as I can before I do my make up. So I tend to take my make up outside with me and do it in the sunshine. Because I don’t want to be faffing around with it I tend to keep it pretty simple

When I do my make up the first thing I like to do is my mascara because I am so good at getting it all over my eyelids. So by doing it first that’s means I can remove it before I do my face.

On this day I used Loreal Miss Manga, a lot of people rave about this but I’m not a fan. I’ve been using it recently to just try and use it up. Once my mascara is on I then apply my foundation, as I am starting to be more tanned and need a warmer foundation I have started using Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid. I wore this for the whole day at the weekend and it lasted so well and didn’t go patchy like some other foundations do if you wear them a long time. I really like the coverage of this as it seems to cover everything.

Next I like to set my face using Rimmel Stay Matte Powder which is my go to for any make up look. I then decided I would try out one of my new contour kits from ELF Cosmetics in the shade Fiji which is matte. I used the contour shade to bronze my face and contour and then I used the dark pink for blush. I am really impressed with it so far as it looks really natural and I love he fact it doesn’t have shimmer in it. For highlight I used my new ElF highlighter in blush gems which gave me a really natural glow.

And to finish up I kept my brows really simple this day and just used a brow mascara from Loreal in medium brown.

Forgotten Make Up

I have seen shop my stash posts around and thought I would do one as I always seem to use the same make up day in day out. I went through my drawers and picked out the things which I barely touch in hopes that I will find a love for them and start using them!

I love filling in my eye brows and I went through a stage of buying loads of brow products to try out, and this ELF brow kit was on of them. Of course I’m used to my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow but I would like to give this a shot in the near future. I have dyed my brows recently so I know the darker shade is perfect for a bit of natural colour.

Next up is a Catrice highlighter pen, I picked this up in Prague last year and it gives such good colour. As its getting into spring I want to try and use this in the inner corner of my eye and also under my brows to add definition.

Next up is more eye products, these are the only 2 Mayeblline Colour Tattoos I own and I have had these for years, so it could be about time I bought some new ones. They both are really nice metallic bases and have a long lasting power. Once again these would be perfect for brightening your eye shadow and creating a good base.

I then chose a highlighter from Kiko, I domt actually think I have used this because it is so shimmery! But it would be nice for a night out or in the summer to add a golden touch.

I chose another highlighter which I barely use, and this one is from Rimmel and is in a liquid form. This is a actually a really subtle natural shade which I must start using more!

I also found 2 palettes which are pretty much untouched. One is the Andy Warhal palette from Nars, this has some really nice bright Spring/summer colours. The thing that puts me off using this palette is when I swatch the colours they have quite large peices of glitter in them, which makes me afraid. The other palette is Meet Matte Nude(s), this actually has such wearable colours but I never reach for it and I don’t know why!

And the final item I found was by Clinique, a custom repair serum. I don’t have a clue what this is, so I guess I should google it and find out. I ended up getting this free when Debenhams sent me the wrong order.
