October Obsessions

Beauty

November is here, how crazy fast is this year going! Next month is December! Christmas! I’m already planning my blogmas content as I kinda failed blogtober this year after 20 posts I just stopped!

So here are Octobers favourites…

I think this face wash from Philosophy was in last months favourites, but it really is that good! I love using this as my second cleanser as it has really tiny scrubby bits which make it soft on your skin but still gives a gentle exfoliation.

I have been using a lot of Real Techniques brushes recently and it’s safe to say their now my go to for my make up, but one of my favourites for the month is this contour brush. I actually use this to set under my eyes, because it’s really small but quite solid it’s prefect for swiping in my powder and then pressing under my eyes.

I have been obsessed with using this brow pencil from Tanya Burr Cosmetics, I have really been loving the dark defined but natural look it gives. It is also really easy to use and get the perfect shade, plus look at that packaging!

Brandnation very kindly sent me some products to try out from a couple of brands including Scunci which are a haircare brand. They sent me two brushes, one of which has come everywhere with me all week and these hair ties. I have thick long hair and whenever my hair is in a ponytail it falls out and doesn’t stay put, but these hair ties have so much grip that they actually stay put!

Tell me this is not a gorgeous colour! This is the shade Charlotte from Nars and this was my go to shade whilst I was in Geneva a couple of weeks ago. It’s the perfect autumnal colour!

What’s in it for me have kindly sent me another shower product to try out, this is the Body Scrub and it smells delicious (good enough to eat). It has a really good consistency of scrubby bits (so technical) and is really moisturising. You can order your own for the winter to keep you skin looking great from Harvey Nichols.

The Ordinary has fastly become my favourite skincare brand, and this month I have especially been loving the Lactic Acid. This is a mild peel which gets rid of dead skin cells and encourages new ones to keep your skin looking glowing and young.

This book came out a good few weeks ago now, maybe even a month, but I didn’t get my hands on it until the very end of October. But it still makes it into my favourites because it was a long awaited purchase, and this book is going to be amazing for the festive season (and November). It such a pretty well designed and well put together book which has everything you need to get you in the mood for Christmas. You will be seeing a lot of this over blogmas for sure!

My favourite nudes | Nudes perfect for work

Beauty

If your anything like me then you like to wear make up for work, and a lipstick, ofcourse! Well I have the perfect lipsticks which look great, but look natural and don’t look like your trying to hard.

These three lipsticks have become my most worn lipsticks since I started my new job back in January. A nude lip is not something I would tend to wear, I love a bright bold red lipstick which stands out. However, for work that’s not always the best idea, so a nude lip it is for work.

Left to right

Mac Velvet Teddy This is the lipstick which everyone and their mother knows about, I always forget about this lipstick and forget how beautiful and natural it really is. As it is matte it lasts for a pretty long time so you don’t need to worry about topping it up every 30 minutes.

Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria This is slightly more brown toned where as Velvet Teddy has more red undertones on my skin. But this makes it such a lovely lipstick to wear as it looks really natural and doesn’t look to over the top.

Tanya Burr Cosmetics Bear Hug This lipstick from Tanya Burr Cosmetics’s is the lightest of the 3 and a lot more natural. This is great for the days where you accuse little go a little over the top on your face makeup and don’t want to push it by wearing a noticlabe lipstick.

As you can see from the swatches they are all really creamy and pigmented and so easy to wear! These are also ideal for when your on the go and don’t have a lot of time to work on your application.

Autumn Lip Picks

Beauty

Welcome back, today’s post is all about my autumn lip picks! I have gone throw my collection and picked out the lipsticks which I think scream fall!

I have picked out a real variety from the typical dark berries to the dark nudes.

The three lipsticks across the top are pretty much my staples for autumn time. On the left is Charlotte Tilbury Very Victoria, this is a less typical fall shade, but is very ideal for wearing to work as it’s still a dark nudey brown. In the middle is the prettiest shade, Charlotte by Nars! I need to wear this a lot more this year as it’s such a gorgeous dark plumy red shade perfect for adding a pop of autumn to your make up. And on the right is another work autumnal shade, Pink Cocoa from Tanya Burr Cosmetics.

I have picked out two Colour Pop shades, on the left is Saturday and in the middle is Avenue. I really love the shades of these, but I don’t get along very well when wearing them, they flake off half my lips and look awful! Please let me know if there is a way to make these stay put, because I have so many and can’t use them! I then have two Mac lipsticks in the shades Whirl and Amourous. Whirl is definitely the more typical brown woodland shade where as Amourous has a hint of purple and berry shades. I have then also picked out a Mac liquid lipstick in the shade High Drama, this screams autumn and is the perfect dark lip! I also really love he formula of the Mac liquid lipsticks as they last for so long!

I have also picked out a Revlon Liquid Lip Colour in the shade Addiction, this is really creamy and longlasting. And finally I have two soft matte lip creams from NYX, these are in the shades Transylvania and Copenhagen. To be honest I won’t be getting much wear out of these as they are really old and dried up but I can’t bring myself to get rid of them!

After wiring this post I’ve realised how many autumnal lipsticks I need to start wearing! I’m sure I will pack quite a few of them to take away with me on my next holiday!

If I could only own 5 mascaras…

Beauty

Mascara is the one staple that you need to love 100%, you don’t want clumpy lashes or spidery lashes, you want perfect lashes with volume & length. I have picked 5 mascaras from my collection which I couldn’t like without (yet I will because one is about to run out and I’m not buying it again).

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes

This is a sample size of the gorgeous mascara from CT, my best friend got me a lipstick for my birthday and this came with it along with a liner. I love the brush as it’s really fluffy and packs on the perfect amount of product to coat your lashes. If I wasn’t stingy I would purchase a full size one of these, but I think some drugstore mascaras are just as good and half the price.

So Susan Feather Lash

This mascara has been sat in my drawer for nearly a year! It came in a subscription box and I’ve just never got around to trying it, I have so many mascaras on the go (even more now). I opened this when I took a photo of my collection and then decided I would try it out. To my surprise it is amazing! I was totally shocked at how well it coated my lashes and it built up volume and length. It also keeps my lashes curled all day long! Another great thing about this mascara is because it’s fibres it doesn’t melt of your eyes when it gets wet, instead it just breaks of in little feathers leaving you without panda eyes.

Loreal False Lash Architect Waterproof

This has been my go to waterproof mascara for years, it creates long luscious lashes and doesn’t create panda eyes. When I get out the pool My lashes are still in place and I have to actually take them off with a cleanser. If your looking for a drugstore waterproof mascara then this is the one!

Too Faced Better Than Sex

Unfortunately this is the mascara that is about to run out, I’ve had it for a year and a half so it’s well past it’s prime. But I just love it so much, I love the packaging the best out of all the mascaras as it’s so girly and pretty. The brush is very much like the CT One above as it has soft fluffy bristles. It is really easy to build up without the fear of clumping.

Loreal False Lash Superstar

This is the newest mascara to my collection and one of my most used. I’ve never really been a fan of the double ended mascaras but this has changed my mind. The first side coats your lashes and adds volume whilst the second side adds on the length to the tip of the lashes.

Nude Lip Picks

Beauty

I’m back again, this time with my favourite nude shades from my collection. I never used to be a huge fan of nudes, I felt I needed a bright lip in order to feel like I was ready to go out, but now I love a nude!

6 things to get you in the mood for Christmas…

Beauty

Today I am sharing with you 6 things to get you in the middle for Christmas! I love Christmas and as soon as it hits December 1st then it’s time for everything festive!

Warm Cosy Pyjamas
Who doesn’t love warm cosy pyjamas, weather these are really cute Christmassy ones or cheap and tacky ones from Primark. My favourite ones to wear this one of year and my plaid ones I got last year from Primark along with my leopard print onesie.

Candles

Candles are my jam, I love them and if I am in my room I will always have a couple burning. I also love to burn waxes in my wax burner as I find they give a stronger smell.

Hot Chocolate

I’m pretty sure December is the only month that it’s acceptable to have a hot chocolate with marshmallows and whipped cream on a daily basis. It’s just so yummy and warm!

Festive Lips

Ofcourse a festive lip to me means a red lip and they are my favourite type of lip. I have so many red lispticks that I like to rotate them daily so I get a chance to use them all.

Festive Nails

Nothing says Christmas like red, glittery nails! I like to rock a glittery nail for the whole of December and even November! I love pairing red and silver glitter together. Although you could go for a more subtle Christmas nails and use a nude shade with a glitter on top which looks equally as festive!

Festive Body Wash

Christmas can be everywhere, even in your shower. In December I love using Snow Fairy from Lush as it smells amazing and so Christmasy. This is actually still my bottle from last year as I never got around to finishing it up. I bet you can even buy a Christmas body lotion aswell!

Let me know what gets you in the mood for Christmas!

My First Charlotte Tilbury Lipstick

Beauty

So, this was a little bit of an impulse buy. I definelty did not need this lipstick or have an occasion to wear it, but I bought it.

When the package arrived I had no idea that it was my lipstick, normally things like that take a long time (like Mac) but this took 2 days! When I opened it up it was like a present!

The whole experience of this little package is so totally worth the £23 for the lipstick! So much thought has gone into this to make it special for the customer. This adorable envelope contained the order form and that’s it, but it looks so posh!

Even the packaging of the lipstick is to die for, rose gold and dark purple, two of my favourite colours. It just looks so high end and autumnal.

Obviously all I can say is wow! It just kept getting better and better, I’d never seen a Charlotte Tilbury lipstick in person before or held one. It was so much different to any other brand, this is my first high end lipstick other than MAC.

The shade I chose was Red Carpet Red. And this is perfect! It’s a deep berry toned red.

If you are thinking about buying one but are out of because of the price, just do it. It will so be worth it, it’s like Christmas and birthdays all rolled into one little package.

I cannot wait till I buy another one, but the hardest part is picking a shade.
