Spring has sprung ūüĆ∑ Femme Luxe {gifted}

Beauty

I recieved another little parcel from Femme Luxe, this time I picked out a snake print jacket and a pink oversized knit jumper.

I love the style of the jacket, it’s really casual and oversized and I think it is the perfect look for a spring day. I don’t own any snake print, so I thought it would be a good addition to my wardrobe. I can see myself styling this with some denim shorts in the summer.

The link to the jacket is  here

This winter I have been loving just wearing an over sized jumper and jeans, and I have been doing the same for work but with trousers so I love this jumper.

It is very oversized and I actually think I could have sized down to have it a bit more form fitting, but I still love it. It is a lot more of a heavier jumper than others I have previously got from Femme Luxe but I love the quality of it.

My haircare saviours

Beauty

I have been super lucky to be approached by a wonderful haircare brand, Percy & Reed, and I shall be working with them for the whole year which is super exciting! Each month I will be sent different products to try out and photograph. For me, I personally love just being able to take photos of products, testing them out is just an added bonus. Before this I had only ever tried one of their products which came in a subscription box, now I have a whole selection and could not be happier!

As you can see, the team at Percy & Reed have been super generous and I LOVE receiving these like parcels monthly.

So far, favourite has to be the overnight recovery, this is a hair mask which you can leave on for hours and hours. I tend to do mine every Sunday when I wake up if I have no plans for that day. I then let it work it’s magic the throughout the whole day. What’s great about this mask is that you only have shampoo your hair, no need for conditioner, so it totally speeds up the whole showering process (especially when it’s cold outside).

As I havn’t had these products for long I still havn’t had a good chance to try them, although before I went and took some outfit photos, I sprayed on the shine and fragrance spray which 1. smells amazing and 2. it actually made my hair look amazing!

And that’s all I’ve tried so far…

Cosy knitwear from Femme Luxe {gifted}

Beauty

Femme Luxe are always so kind letting me pick out some of their clothes, as its winter I decided to get some cosy knitwear to add to my wardrobe.

First up we have this really cute oversized grey polo neck, this is so cosy and comfy it makes the perfect addition to my wardrobe. I love that this is perfect for days at home, lounging around the house but it is also great for work.
I don’t own any polo neck jumpers but I really do love the look of this one.
You can find it here in white as the grey has sold out.

The next jumper is this statement one, it is very similar to the grey, but a little less oversized. I love the colour of this one, it’s unlike anything I own so it’s always great to go a little out of your comfort zone.

You can find it here.
And last but not least is this cute baby pink off the shoulder jumper, this jumper is more lightweight than the other two so I can see myself wearing this for a bit longer as the weather gets warmer.
I think the off the shoulder style gives it a really cute, girly look and the wide sleeves add a very casual effect.
You can find it here.

Ditching fake nails and embracing my natural nails | Featuring Laguna Moon Gel Polish

Beauty

I have been wearing fake nails for well over a year, I got into the habit of having my nails look good, always wanting to look put together, but whilst I was on holiday a few weeks ago I decided I wanted to go back to natural nails. I am (was) a nail biter, I can still be, but it’s been about 3 months without any biting so I’m going strong! I am also a picker, if there is nail polish to pick off I will pick it, that generally the reason why I wore false nails.¬†

I was contacted my a new brand called Laguna Moon who asked if I wanted to try out one of their gel nail kits. I chose ‘The Bridesmaids” set as it had pinks and greys and I thought they looked the prettiest colours for me. They arrived really quickly and in such cute packaging!¬†

The packaging makes it really easy for storing and I think it is a really unique way of sending them.

The set comes with three shades of grey, one pastel pink, one pink glitter and one pink shimmer. I can’t wait to have a proper play around with these colours, you’ll have to keep an eye on my instagram @toriiitoriii for when I switch them up!

Over all doing gel nails is a really fun satisfying little job,  a treat for yourself, time to relax and pamper and take the well deserved time you need!

Testing out a new cleansing brush| BEGlow PURA

Beauty

Skincare is my passion, I love to try anything and everything so when Be Glow got in contact for me to test out their new deep cleansing brush it was a dream come true.

I’ve only had it a short while but as soon as I took it out the box I fell in love! Its nothing like I’ve used before, I have the Clarisonic Mia, but thats pretty hefty compared to this little dinky device. The device is so small and compact instantly making you love it. I already can tell this is going to be a staple in my cleansing routine and as its so tiny it means it’s perfect for travel!

The brush head is silicone, which is amazing for helping clear up troublesome skin as its so easy to clean and bacteria doesn’t get trapped like it would on a traditional brush.¬†

The first time I used this brush I didn’t read any instructions, I just tried and tested it on my own. There is only one button to turn it on which makes it really easy and simple to use.

I found that the brush did foam up my cleanser all so well, so I would definitely recommend¬†massing it into your face using the brush so you get a deeper clean. I haven’t decided yet if I like the fact it doesn’t have a timer built in, where as some cleansing brushes time for a minute and switch off, this one doesn’t, meaning that you could get really carried away and be stood ages cleansing your face (but who wouldn’t like that?).¬†

Over all I think it is such a perfect addition to my skincare routine and I am sure I will be using it for the foreseeable future!

My favourite face masks

Garnier Skin Active 3 in 1 Blackhead Control

This mask has been a god send, I feel like it arrived just in time to help calm and control my skin. What I love about this is that it is multi purpose, a mask, wash and scrub. As I have plenty of washes I do tend to save this just to use as a mask. Before I was the mask off I like to use the scrub and massage it in just to revitalise my skin. The only down side of this mask is that it is black, that means if your messy like me then you end up covered in black and so does the bathroom!

Garnier Skin Active Moisture Bomb

Sheet masks are my absolute fave thing to do, I love how hydrating these Garnier ones are. I tend to use these once every couple of weeks as they are quite pricey, keep your eye out when they are discounted down to ¬£2. I find these are perfect after a long day in the sun, a day where you’ve worn a lot of make up or after a day travelling as they add so much hydration back into the skin. Garnier now do so many different types of mask for different skin types, besides from the hydration ones I really like the detox ones which are a black sheet mask.¬†

Alya Skin Pink Clay Mask

I was really lucky to be sent this mask to try out, I feel like it is the mask that is taking over the world at the moment as I always see it advertised on social media. The mask contains Australian Pink Clay and is ideal for detoxifying and brightening your skin, perfect for summer and the no makeup days! I love the smell of this mask and always enjoy using it! You can use the code ‘toriiitoriii’ for a 15% discount on their site.¬†

Skin + Earth Black Clay + Liquorice Mask

I really like this mask when I’m having a bad skin week, this mask is really refreshing and cleansing. It contains little beads which when rubbed into your face pop and go black. I love the fact that this mask doesn’t dry hard, this makes it so much easier to wash off and feels less constricting on your face.¬†

Arkana Crystal Peel

Arkana are a new(ish) company I have had the luxury of trying out, I have tried out a variety of their products now but nothing beats this mask. This mask is  designed to be used before your use a mask, as it is a peel it removes the dead skin making your mask more effective. When I first started using this mask it would leave my skin red afterwards but now my skin has adjusted to it and loves it!

The Ordinary AHA Mask

This mask may look a little scary whilst it’s in the bottle and to be fair, it’s pretty scary when it’s on your face! It literally looks like your have a tonne of blood layered on your face. The mask is a resurfacing treatment which is designed to exfoliate your skin. As this product is really strong I tend to only use this once every 2 -3 weeks, but as it is pretty similar to the Arkana Crystal Peel I would not use them both close together.¬†

Garnier Skin Active Botanic Aloe Mask

The Garnier Botanic Aloe mask is a leave on over night moisturiser, you can just use it as a normal moisturiser but I like to apply one layer, let it sink in, then apply a really thick layer and leave it to soak in over night. I have especially been loving aloe after spending time in the sun as it is super hydrating and my skin is loving it. I also love the fact it has near enough all natural ingredients.

Garnier Skin Active Matcha Detox

Everyone is raving about matcha these days, so I thought why not try a mask which contains it, this mask is designed to absorb pollution residue and unclogs pores. I also feel this mask is really light on the skin and doesn’t feel overly drying considering it is a clay mask.

Beauty Kitchen 5 Minute Miracle Mask

I was sent this mask a while ago and have been fascinated by it ever since, it contains so many good skin ingredients and is really great for skin and the smell is divine! The mask cleanses, stimulates, firms and plumps your skin.

Free & easy instagramable backgrounds

Beauty

Today I am sharing with you my great idea I had late one night, I used to go and get wallpaper samples and use them for flatlays, but I feel my photography style has changed a lot since then. This time I decided I would use them as backdrops in my room and I am in love with how they look!

If it wasnt for the fact most people know my room has pink walls I think I could get away with pretending I have the most amazing wallpaper. I absolutely love the style of this wallpaper, its so different to the rest of my room and instagram so it really stands out. I really wish I could actually have one wall covered in this print!

Above my little drawers I have a metal rack from Tiger, instead of blue tacking¬†the paper onto my wall I decided just to pop it underneath so it wouldn’t do any damage. I am very lucky with the fact it actually does look like that could be my real wall as it covers the perfect amount of space.

Here are some mores examples

As you can see when the photo is taken close enough you cannot even tell that it is not part of my room.

I love this look so much, I’m sooo happy that I can switch up my backgrounds, especially for the summer! This has given me so much inspiration for new photos and I’m pretty much all set for content for a long time.¬†

Let me know if you decide to do the same as me!

Healthier changes to my life

Beauty

Since I have started working in the PE department at work I took it upon myself to make my lifestyle a lot healthier, being around PE teachers who regullary go to the gy,m, go running and take part in sport has really inspired me to improve myself. I have only been in the PE department for about 8 weeks so far, but I can already see a difference in myself…

10,000 steps at work

Up until 8 weeks ago I was just regular Teaching Assistant in a high school, it involved sitting down most the day in classrooms and not doing a lot of walking. However now, I pride myself on reaching 10,000 steps a day (even sometimes before I have lunch). Being up on my feet all day, only sitting down for break and lunch is working wonders for me. I tried on a pair of shorts I had bought last summer (they were a little tight back then), but now they are actually TOO BIG! To keep track of my steps I use a fitness watch, a little like a FitBit, but this one is only £20 from Amazon. I find having the watch motivational as you can set targets for what you want to achieve and by what time.

No more coffee

I used to be a real breakfast person, I would never leave the house without a big bowl of cereal, now I barely eat in the mornings, I think it’s because I’m too lazy to get up and allow time for the whole process. I got into a really bad habit of drinking a latte every morning before I went to work, this meant adding loads of milk and sugar to it making it really unhealthy! So my new aim is to cut coffee out, or at least only have it once a week as a treat.

Walking Club

Once a week after work my friend and I go out for a walk, Wednesday are known as ‘Walking Wednesday’ (and also Doughnut Wednesdays, but I’ve gone of them so I’m safe from them). We got out for an hour after work walking different routes each week, we don’t walk particularly fast or far but it’s a good way to get out and get some fresh air.

Hiking

In addition to walking club I also aim to go out on my own hikes either at the weekend or after work, as it is getting lighter in the evenings now that means it is possible to do a 2 hour hike after work. I normally aim for do about 9 miles which takes about 2 and a half hours.

What healthier lifestyle changes have you made this year? I need some more ideas, so let me know in the comments below.
