A magical day in Disney Land Paris

Every year for my birthday my best friend and I like to take a little trip, this year’s trip was to Paris and more importantly Disney Land! I had not been to Paris in about 7 and the last time I had been to Disney was in LA in 2011 so it was a long awaited trip!

We flew out to Paris on Friday night straight after work and headed to the hotel which was one stop away from Disney. The next morning we headed to park, much to my disappointment the weather was horrible! I was really looking forward to being about to get amazing photos of the castle with a lovely blue sky, but no, we could barely see the castle when we arrived!

That being said, the photos did look pretty awesome with the castle faded in the background.

Our first ride was Space Mountain, somehow we ended up with the front seats, I was very glad that this ride was mainly in the dark so I couldn’t see! We actually only ended up going on 5 rides which doesn’t seem like a lot but when each queue is roughly an hour it makes sense. Even though it was a weekend in January the park was still so busy!

We went on Space Mountain, Indiana Jones, Buzz Lightyear, Tea Cups and Rockin Rollercoaster.

At 5pm the parade down Main Street commenced and it was so magical! I don’t think it matters how old you are, but you just can’t hell get emotional when you hear all the Disney songs and see all the character dancing along.

After the parade we quickly headed to the second park, the studios. We only spent about an hour in this park as we had to queue for the Aerosmith ride, so by the time we finished that ride it was too late to queue for another.

At 7pm we left the park and went to find some dinner, we initially tried to go to Planet Hollywood to eat but the queue was nearly 49 minutes! Instead, we went opposite to a Annette’s Diner which only had a short queue.

After dinner we headed back to the main park ready to watch the fireworks at 9pm.

This was another magical part of the day, the atmosphere is amazing, the effects are brilliant and it’s just an amazing experience that can’t be missed!

So there you have it, 12 hours in Disney Land Paris!

Some tips:

  • Dress for the weather! I did not dress appropriately for January and froze the whole day! Standing in queue is a cold process and you will not warm up!
  • Take snacks for the queues.
  • Print your tickets as soon as you book them!
  • Plan what you want to do/where to go

Goals for October

October is in full swing now and I have decided to do my first ever monthly goals post and set myself some goals to achieve for the next 31 days! To be honest I don’t really have a clue what my goals should be, but here goes…

  • Publish a blog post daily for the whole month of October
  • Plan & create blogposts for November and sort out a publishing schedule for the rest of the year
  • Think of ideas for December blog posts
  • Aim to go on one walk a week
  • Walk to work atleast 3 times a week
  • Reach 4000 followers on Instagram by the end of the month

And that is it, I’m mainly focusing around my blog this month as I really need to motivate myself to post more and ofcourse walking is healthy!

What are your goals for the month?

Loreal Paradise Exactic Review

This beautiful mascara must be one of the most talked about mascaras in a long time, and I can definitely see why! It is AMAZING.

First off all, the packaging. I think this appeals to every blogger and lover of all things rose gold so it gets a 10 out of 10 for first impressions and presentation skills. This is without a doubt one of the prettiest mascaras I own, it’s on par with Too Faced Better Than Sex.

The brush, its pretty much perfect. It applied the perfect amount of product, it doesn’t go clumpy and it creates so much volume and length. It really is all round a great product.

It is also so easy to apply and easy to work with. I don’t think I’ve ever had a time where it hasn’t done what I wanted it too (i.e. Gone clumpy or looked awful). The first time I wore this one of my colleagues asked if I was wearing a new mascara because my lashes looked like they were lash extensions! What a compliment.

I truely feel like I have found my perfect mascara and I don’t feel like I need to even bother buying any new ones as I can just keep repurchasing this one over and over…

Have you tried this mascara out? Let me know your thoughts on it in the comments below.

Lazy Day Morning Routine

Here is a lazy day get ready with me which is kind of like a morning routine.

The first thing I do when I wake up is head to the bathroom with my cute little Zoella cup and full it up with water. Over the past few weeks I have been trying to drink a whole cup before I have any breakfast to keep me extra hydrated to see if it helps my skin.

As today was a miserable day I decided to light a little Primark candle, these are my favourites as there only £1 yet really cute! And I can actually smell it burning away from my bed.

On days when I’m doing nothing or have a long time to get ready I like to do a quick skincare routine to refresh my skin.

I have been using the Garnier Rose Water Cleanser to just remove any dirt built up over the night followed by the Boots Botanics All Bright Toner to brighten my skin.

And then to finish I go in with a brightening serum followed by the Clinique Moisturising Gel to hydrate and get my skin ready for the day.

Now onto the important bit, breakfast! Breakfast is my favourite meal of the day as I love a big bowl of rice crispies. I also love a coffee in the morning, normally in the summer I would turn it into an ice coffee but as it’s not a very nice day it’s just a hot latte. I eat my breakfast whilst watching YouTube catching up on my subscriptions. And gradually drink my coffee while I’m getting ready wsnits way to hot to drink it straight away.

And now, make up time! As I am actually not going anywhere I wanted to test out products which I don’t usually reach for to see if they work for my skin.

Primer Rimmel Fix & Perfect

Foundation Maybelline Fit Me

Concealer MUA Cover & Conceal

Before I get dressed I like to do the last minute bits, for my hair I like to douse it in dry shampoo. My favourite dry shampoo is from the fresh one from Co Lab, this is also great because if your in a rush you don’t need to worry about the white marks left in your hair, because there isn’t! I then slather on some body lotion to try and maintain the the little tan I do have and then spritz my body in a perfume.

And there you have it my lazy day morning routine for when I’m really not doing anything exciting at all!

A day in London

Yesterday I surprised my best friend with tickets to see Wicked the musical for her birthday. We got the train into London (after Starbucks off course). I tried the Strawberries & Cream Frappe for the first time, I don’t know if I would have it again but it was really nice and refreshing (I prefer the Java Chip).

When we arrived in London we made a b-line to Covent Garden to get some lunch.

Covent Garden is such a pretty place! Every time I go they’ve added more cute things such as all the flowers. Also not how blue the sky is (because it wasn’t blue for long).

For lunch we chose Maxwells, I had sweet potato fries and a smoothie which were delicious. After a quick snack we got up to leave and noticed that it was chucking it down! I had never seen rain like this in London before (mainly because we also look at the weather before going and try to avoid the rain, but when you have tickets there’s not much you can do). Everyone outside was getting soaked while we seemed refuge inside Maxwells until it stopped. Luckily we only had to wait 5 minutes till it cleared up!

After the rain we hurried over to Victoria, where Wicked is performed at the Appolo Victoria Theatre. This was my 9th time seeing the show (yes I’m obsessed, I havnt been in atleast 2-3 years & I justify it by saying it’s just like watching your favourite movie). If you have seen this show then you will know what I’m on about, if you have not seen the show then you need to!

After the theatre the plan was to have dinner in Hard Rock Cafe but when we arrived the queue was ridiculous so we headed back to Covent Garden to find some food around that area. On the way we walked though St James’s park and saw Buckingham Palace and some more pretty houses. By this point the weather was perfect and you would not have even known it had poured earlier.

Another first for me yesterday was Five Guys, I had heard so much about it and seen it everywhere that I wanted to try it out. At first I didn’t think there would be anything I would eat as I don’t eat beef burgers, but luckily I saw they had grilled cheese on the menu! While I was in America I lived off grilled cheese so I knew I had to get it, it was o good I ended up having two as you can see!

Literally a few steps down the road was Amornio which does the cute flower icecreams.

With our icecreams we walked down towards he Thames and then went on Waterloo bridge where we got amazing views of the city. It looked so pretty and it’s hard to believe that this is London!

We then walked all the way down to Westminster along the Thames. And from here we headed back to St Pancras and home. Just like  that the day was over.

Some selfies from the day

Kylie Jenner Lip Kit

At the weekend I travelled up to Blackpool to see my best friend from Uni so we could swap birthday presents. My birthday was in January and hers was last week, but good things come to those who wait! From the title of this post you can already tell what she bought me! A KYLIE JENNER LIP KIT!

I have been on about these lip kits for ages but didn’t actually want to buy one for myself but luckily she bought me one. We had been talking about them as her friend from work buys them so she got my friend it for me. The shade I received was Candy K and it is a lovely dark purpley nude. As soon as I opened it I could not contain my excitement and pretty much put it on straight away. It even lasted when I ate a bright blue ice cream and my dinner! There is so much hype about this product and I’m so glad I have been able to jump on the band wagon and have my own! I literally cannot stop instagramming photos of it. So go follow me on Instagram @Juliettetalks.

It definelty is long lasting, I applied a swatch to my arm in the morning and had to scrub my arm in the evening to remove it. However the only downside is it is very drying, and I am someone who constantly puts my lips together so I need to stop this or it goes flakey. But other than that I love it!

Birthday Outfit

When I was in Barcelona it was my birthday and we spent the whole day out exploring the city so in the evening we dressed up a little and went and had a lovely meal.

The skirt I wore is from Boohoo and I love the colour of it, I felt like it was the perfect time to wear it. It had two splits, one up each side which actually made walking a little difficult because it kept flying away. I did however wear some thick black tights underneath so I didn’t flash the whole of Barcelona.

The top I chose to wear is my go to off the sholder lace top which I literally wear all the time. I love the look of it and the style and it can be worn dressed up or dressed down.

I decided to wear my black heeled boots were the perfect high so my skirt didn’t touch the floor.

Barcelona Day 2 // My Birthday

Day 2 in Barcelona was my Birthday, and it was a little weird spending it somewhere where it was sunny and hot! Back at home it was snowing! I bought the majority of my cards with me to open here as they had some euros in for spending here. I also picked up this Mac Lipstick from the airport on the way out using some money my Nan gave me.

The first place we went to today was Parc Guell which is my favourite place here as I had been a few years ago. It was such lovely weather and clear skies making photos look amazing!

We payed €8 to go into the Park and go to the famous wall and take some photos. We then walked down and took some more photos from the bottom.

Our next stop of the day was Montjuic and the Cable Cars, we payed €12 for a round trip. We could see for miles over the city and out to sea.

From the cable cars we walked down the the Magic Fountain where we were the day before and walked back down to the shopping centre to grab some lunch.

We went to a place called Boka, I had a bacon pizza which was really nice and then tried my first crepe which was pretty good too. The only downside is that on a Sunday about 90% of the shops were shut.

We got a train back to the Ramblas and walked up and down looking in all the touristy shops. Nicola and I both got matching I Love Barcelona tops and I picked up a cup as well. We also had to do the typical Starbucks stop as well.

We then went back to the hotel and for ready dinner. Once again we ate at the Hard Rock Cafe and had food and a cocktail.

After dinner we went to Amornino which makes flower ice creams, there a a few of these all of the place (even on in London). We are these back in the hotel room as it was a little chilly outside.

For my bath tonight I used the Unicorn Horn bubble bar from Lush. It made so many bubbles and I will definitely miss having a bath when I go home!

My birthday in Scotland

Flash Back Friday, Travel

Even though I went to University in Cumbria I never made it to Edinburgh and I had always wanted to go. So this year I decided on going for my birthday, I went with my family and my best friend Meg met us there for the day.

The first day we went to the castle but didnt walk around it, instead Meg and I went in the Camera Obscura place which was so much fun!

Afterwards we went to the Botanic Gardens which were awesome! There were loads of greenhouses with loads of cool plants which I great for taking photos with.

The next day before we flew home we went to the Royl Yaght.

We then went to Scott’s Memorial which involved climbing loads of stairs! But the view was worth it!
