Since being in lockdown I have been able to take the time to do my morning skincare routine, on a normal work day I do not leave myself time to be able to do that and my make up. So it has been really nice for the past 8 weeks to be able to clean my skin ever morning.
However it is morning, I still don’t want to get my face completely wet so I use the Hydrating Milky Cleanser from Pixi (gifted) which gets rid of any dirt and product build up from during the night.
I then go in with the Pixi Vitamin-C Tonic (gifted) to tone and brighten. I follow this with the Boots Glow Essence which contains niacinamide which helps fight spots so it is great for me on a daily basis.
I use the Dermalogica biolumin-c eye serum (gifted) which brightens and forms the under eye area. And lastly I finish up by moisture from using the Boots Glow moisturising cream which soothes and hydrated.
One of the many things I have enjoyed whilst being off is being able to take my time when doing my skincare routine, there is no rush, no where to be, no time constraints so I find it really relaxing and look forward to the end of the day when I can look after my skin.
To cleanse I have been using the Be Glow face brush (previously gifted) with the Calm Skin cleanser from Superdrug, I find these two work great together and give my skin a really good clean.
I have a bit of a mask obsession, so I don’t tend to stick to just one mask, which mask I choose depends on what my skin is doing that day. But one I have been loving and can notice great results with is the Acne Out Mask from Arkana (gifted). This is a clay mask which drys and draws all the impurities out of your skin and contains salicylic acid to fight spots.
To time I have been using the Pixi Glow Tonic with is my absolute favourite, this leaves my skin glowing as it exfoliates.
I tend to flirt between serums too, but I really love the AHA BHA PHA Miracle Serum from Some By Mi (gifted). This also works as an exfoliator to leave your skin cleaner and more radiant. When I have applied this I like to go in with my jade roller and massage my face for a few minutes.
I follow up with the Boots Glow Eye Cream and the Jane Scrivner over oil cream (gifted) which smells amazing and is bright orange to look in all the moisture.
And then it’s time to relax even more and get into bed and watch Netflix.
Did I need more skincare, no, but because it was pink and looked pretty did I have to buy it, yes! I couldn’t help myself when I saw these products on the Boots website. They are so aesthetically pleasing and if I was a skincare product I would be one of these.
One of the very amazing things about these new products from Boots is the price, looking at them you’d think they would cost a lot more than what they did. But no, they were all £4 each! What a bargain, everything was £4!
One of the main ingredients in all of these products is Niacinamide, which is great for fighting blemishes. I tend to use these products when I am having a bit of a skin outbreak and I know I can trust them to help it out.
The two staples from this range I have been using near enough daily are the Glow Essence and the Glow Eye Cream. I find them both really hydrating and they also smell really great too!
I think this is a really lovely range for Boots to come out with and I love how affordable yet nice the products all are and I think I will definitely be repurchasing these when they run out.
Pixi Beauty always kill it with their PR packages, when I see the email to say something is on the way from them I know it is going to be a good day.
The latest launch in their Retinol & Jasmine range which features 6 products ranging from a cleanser to oils. This launch contains everything you need to complete your skincare routine from start to finish.
As always the packaging is so aesthetically pleasing, the lilac and the green go so well together and make them such feature pieces to have on show.
The cleanser contains retinol to smooth, jasmine oil to fight inflammation and ceramide to lock in moisture.
The toner contains ingredients to calm and minimise redness, soften and brighten and the retinol is realised over time to smooth and refine.
One of my favourite skincare items are oils, and this range features two very lovely oils, one for the AM and one for PM.
There is also a moisturiser and eye cream which contain peptides to firm and revitalise and the eye cream contains caffeine to de puff your under eye area.
Thank you to Pixi Beauty for sending me this beautiful package which came in a lovely toiletry bag perfect for travel (when we can go out again).
I thought for my first blogpost in a while I would share some of the things I have been loving whilst we have been in lockdown.
To be honest, I kind of feel like I’m thriving being in lockdown, my mental health is actually a lot better and my over mood is so much better than when I am at work, guess that means I need to retire pretty soon haha.
The first thing I have been loving in lockdown is photography, I feel like over the past 8 weeks I have gotten a lot more creative with my Instagram photos and there is so much inspiration out there for creative photo ideas.
Secondly I have been loving some new fashion/trends, the first being the basic Nike crew socks which everyone seems to have. I never used to like bulky sock like this because I have small feet and muscular legs so I didn’t think they would look good, but I actually love them! Another trend I have been loving is the over sized graphic tee and cycling shorts, something which I never imagined myself wearing, but once again I really like the look!
Thirdly, I have semi regained my passion for walking, some days I have no energy and no interest in going for our daily walk, other days I thrive by going. I guess it really depends on the weather and my mood.
My morning skincare routine is something which has taken a front seat, I really look forward to waking up and using all my products and having fresh skin for the day.
I’ve also been loving not having to do my make up everyday, planning just a few times a week to do a full face makes it so much more enjoyable as I can take my time and mostly do this on FaceTime talking to my best friend whilst she does hers at the same time.
The last thing I want to mention is that I have been loving my eye brows, I think I will do a separate blog post on eye brow lamination because I am beyond obsessed with them and how they look!
The watch is really comfy to wear and looks great layer over the top of a jumper as it’s still way to cold to not wear sleeves. I was a bit worried it would look a bit too bulky and masculine but I don’t think that’s the case at all, I think it fits in well with my style and compliments the light colours I wear.
If you would like to purchase your own watch you can follow the link below for 20% off your order.
Pixi always kill it with their PR packages, there is no argument needed because everytime I receive one it out does the previous one. This one came as the cutest little milk cartoons which is so creative and absolutely adorable!
In the Hydrating Milky range there are 6 products, this is your complete skincare routine from start to finish. There is everything need to be fully pampered for bedtime or fresh faced to start your day.
There is a make up remover, cleanser, peel and polish (which is my fave), toner, serum and a moisturiser. What is great about this collection if that the moisturiser is a big’en as it can also be used on your body.
I cannot wait to start using these am trying them out properly, head over to my Instagram if you want to see what my first impressions are when I use them!
And of course a huge thank you to Pixi for sending me this ❣️
One brand that I have been supporting over the past year is Freshly Cosmetics, I have been lucky enough to try out a lot of their products and I am always beyond impressed with them. Their last big launch of the year are three beautiful face masks which I have the pleasure of trying out over the next few weeks.
There is nothing I love more than a face mask, I can talk about my love of them for days, if not months. So when they said they were sending me the set of masks I was pretty excited to see what they were like.
There are three masks which make it ideal for any skin type, I feel like they really do cater for everyone and their skin needs. I really like the sound of all of them and will be using all of them over time.
The smell of each mask is really unique, the smells all really match the names. The energy mask smells like oranges and is very fresh, and the relaxing mask reminds me off eating sweets.
Each mask has a different texture, the relaxing mask and energy mask have a very jelly like thin texture, where as the purifying mask has much more a solid clay texture.
I cant wait to test these all out, head over to my Instagram @toriiitoriii for updates when I use them.
Caseapp got in contact and asked if I wanted to try out two of their phone cases, since having my new phone I’ve only bought cases from Ebay, and their just not that great. I picked two new cases from Caseapp which I absolutely love, they have a huge collection to choose from and they even allow you to customise your case either with your initials or your own photos.
There are two different case styles to choose from, slim and tough. I chose the tough case as I thought my phone could do with a little bit more protection.
The cases are such good quality and last a really long time. I chose to get mine in matte as I preferred the way that looked over the gloss.
They are a wonderful unique gift for anyone who loves their phone, and lets face it who doesn’t.
The latest launch from Percy & Reed is the I’m No Flake Shampoo. This is anti dandruff shampoo to add to your collection. I’ve never suffered with dandruff but that will not stop me from using this, as with all Percy & Reed haircare it truly is my favourite.
The shampoo contains Aloe Vera and Chamomile to help soothe the scalp and relieve irritation and dryness. It contains Pro Vitamin B5 to strengthen and restore the hair.
The thing I love most about Percy & Reed products is the smell, every product smells divine, I’ve noticed when I use their shampoo and conditioners by hair is also so much more manageable and brush-able after washing making it a much more enjoyable experience.
This dress is the perfect autumnal piece of clothing, its a midi dress with a slide split from Primark. Not only was it super affordable at £10, it’s super soft! When I initially saw this dress, I liked it, but not enough to get it. So, I ended up going into Primark for the second time in a day to pick it up because I knew I needed it.
The dress is super flattering and I loved the idea of pairing it with a cropped knit over the top to give it the look of a midi skirt.
There is nothing better than staying home on a rainy day, as much as I love just sitting and doing nothing, watching Netflix and just eating, most the time I actually like to keep myself busy. If I know I’m going to be staying in the whole day I like to make a list of everything I want to achieve, this way I can physically see what I have accomplished and feel 10x better about the day.
Some things I like to add onto my list are:
Tidying my room, I love letting my room get messy over the week so when it comes to tidying it up, it’s a greater achievement. I also love being able to rearrange my room, or add in some new home decor bits especially this time of year.
Cleaning make up brushes seems like a bit of funny thing to want to do but once you’ve done it you’ll feet great, I tend to do my brushes every 2 weeks on a Saturday or Sunday.
Treat your skin, every week I like to do a full on pamper evening after eating dinner. This way I can take my time to do my skincare and give it a proper clean and mask it up.
Every so often I find it really useful to go through and tidy all my drawers, whether it be my make up drawers or clothes drawers. You might discover something which you had forgotten about.
I like to switch the make up thats in my everyday makeup bag, I go through my make up drawers and pick out products I want to try out or I’d forgotten about.
Pick out some products which you want to use over the weeks, these could be new ones, or ones your want to try and use up.
Reading blog posts and researching ideas for your own is a great way to gather some inspiration and help develop your blog.
I tend to leave all my photography to the weekends because of the lighting, so I spend about an hour to two hours working on photos and creating new content.
Plan your next week, decide what you want to do, whether it’s going out and about, or writing a blog post.
Spend an hour or two watching your favourite movie or show
